blackpink VMAS peformance was a mess

Not bad but not good Compared to dance practice, special stage n inkigayo charisma they gave for pink venom, this vma stage felt a little flat. Loved Lisa n rosé stage presence in this...same as they gave in all those other stages. Outfit only Lisa's was okayish, jennie n rosé it could've been betr, jisoo outfit was d worse(her inkigayo outfit was way better). Who even thout of giving same black piece for backup dancers, yah bp did have that pink differentiation but still choosing the same colours for main performers n dancers was not a gd idea. N also why choose same color for red carpet and performance. Why the heck they are not giving that pink teaser outfits I'm sure they would just rock in that. I actually loved Jennie's performance in all that pink venom 3 stages but really what hapnd to jennie in this one? I felt her energy drop. Lastly who even thout of that smoke n sound thing in the end, it mostly ruined a perfect ending. This is the difference in Korea n America stage I guess, u can even see an artists minor fault in American stages. BP are very talented, yg should keep giving them more stages to perform that'll make them give same energy n charisma in all their performances. Let's hope for other stages.

I think kpop fans are really used to the usual kpop performance wherein they use props, hard choreography, etc. that's why they expected a lot.. but since I've been a fan of a lot of yg artist (since 2013) I got used to them not doing a hard choreo (except treasure) Personally, I love their looks, their whole outfit. On the other hand, the smoke was too much, I couldn't see their choreo very well😭

"Come and give me all the smoke" yeah the stage really gave the smoke. Made all 4 of them disappear like ninjas or magicians for a moment heh

US stages are very different. They don’t just do angles that work for the specific dance, they show all angles of a performance, good or bad. I also think the girls were nervous. It’s not the same as a concert or music show when the people there support you because they like you. These award shows are very raw and people are there to judge your performance abilities. So I think they need to adjust to that next time.

the stylists could have dress rosé way better

I absolutely love the song and them but I think the issue at the VMA was they blended in too much with the background dancers and they didn’t pop. Lighting was really off and too much smoke you couldn’t see them. Other than that I loved it.

The only main issues were 1. too much smoke that you can’t see them! That’s a fail on the stage folks part. 2. They should’ve stood out from the back up dancers more, either change their outfits or change theirs, can’t be the same color. Folks who are new to Blackpink wouldn’t know who’s who right away. That’s a fail on wardrobe stylists part. Blackpink themselves did a great job.

As I notice, They’re focus in singing then the dancing. And balance on performance. You’re guy known that’s US preferred live vocal. I know their outfits seem not really great. But it’s also the girls decision too. The smoke set up is the only problem for me.🤷🏻‍♀️

I think Jenni just got lost in the choreography. People make mistakes and I’m sure there were nervous. I think they looked great on the red carpet! The only big flaw was to much smoke.

It was mediocre at best. And jisoo's outfit was the prettiest of them all.

I miss those fiery girls from 2016 that were actually exciting to watch and listen to. It’s just seemed to go downhill since then, especially since they got into the modeling stuff. If you’re supposed to be an artist, performances should come before photo shoots. YG has done them a tremendous disservice and it shows.

Pretty shocked though to see stable vocals from Lisa… with a mic behind her head. Aka backing turned up very high so you couldn’t really tell any f* ups if they happened minus that since the mic wasn’t even in front of her face…

Out of YG their stages is so repeating.. they to same moves All to a t... I like when they let loose and actually take control. That's what I liked about YG artist in their stages. Now... It just a typical girl group who songs seriously have nothing on the playing with fire, whistle, stay songs... Tell me otherwise and it pure lies. Sorry but club bangers for 6 years? I mean they don't even own the concept.. their songs can't even have a change.. look at G Idle ... Their songs have a similar song structure but they make it so versatile... Is it just me or do I expect too much from kpop idols as artist or the real gems are just not in the media eye?

The smoke at the end Just ruined the Break dance , We couldn’t even see Rosé and Jisoo + Jennie have some Breathing problems ( Im not sure but she mentioned that she couldn’t run cause she get out of breath really quickly) so Singing & Rapping live and dancing was definitely hard for her But she seemed happy while performing so seing her enjoying the performance is Good

Yall expect so much 😭💀
