  • @yasuh4550
Did you catch the cat scheme? "Didn't buy me a Jag (jaguar) / I'm a different type of cat, never lying (lion) when I rap"
  • @CainTheMain
Ras had to show everyone Eric ain't the only one to fear on the Coast.

  • Coast Contra are literally the best out there they can actually RAP FLOW CADENCE RANGE LYRICAL a feature with the Migos 😅 it would be Migos honor to be a feature on Coast Contra
  • @paco8427
The flows of that twins man incredible
  • @kudabeen
@Scru...remember in that Speechless freestyle Eric Jamal said specifically "looking at my brothers like bodies that's in this session, cause if I don't catch a body they'll body me in a second..."
  • All are amazing and their own character Jamal is nice af but man the twins always kill it. The seem very elevated in consciousness

The Coast Contra Collective voice personify instruments in a dope band or orchestra. I hears them as a skillful band coming together with their voices, bars, and flows functioning as different instruments. For example, Rio is the stank face nasty bass line. He is the bass instrument of the group. Pick any bass instrument--bass guitar, the cello, the bass drum. His deep voice, hearty meaningful clever bars, and STEADY flow is like a bass line when he enters the track. Think of your favorite bass line on your favorite song. That's Rio Los. He's STEADY and funky. He's the anchor instrument of the group. The Twins (Ras and Taj) personify the wind instruments in the group. To me, they enter the tracks giving me Trumpet and Saxaphone--(Miles Davis & John Coltrane) vibes. Their mid-tone voice, cerebral clever bars, and rhythmic flows (vacillating between pocket flowing and high crescendos) remind me of wind instruments. They come in steady and consistent like Miles' Trumpet on his famous Kinda Blue track (my favorite) or Coltrane's Favorite Things. Then, suddenly take your breath away with high skillful crescendo LOUD like an Earth Wind and Fire horn section. The versatility and skill they are demonstrating, could personify any kind of wind instrument. But they remind me of a Trumpet and Saxaphone. Eric is Prince on the electric guitar. He's prince on the snare drums. He's Prince on the piano. At times, he's even the conductor of the orchestra. At times, he's ALL the instruments--bass, horn, piano, etc. LOL! He enters every track with vibrant color, energy, clever cerebral bars, and rhythmic flows that pocket and crescendo, like the guitar, piano, and drums or any instrument. This is how I hear them. I'm a 49 year old generation X'er. I'm a hip hop connoisseur from the hip-hop era of the late 80s and 90s they are paying homage to. I was part of hip-hop dance crews in high school and my 20s. They all could be my sons--literally. And it would be a joy to have sons like this. All four take my breath away in a different ways when they spit. I'm pleasantly surprised to see they are so young and wise and in pursuit of righteousness. I'm impressed that Taj and Eric are already married, this young. Some would think this unwise of them. But this is very WISE of them. Lots to unpack there. And I suspect they will weather the storms of marriage successfully due to how morally clear and focused they "appear to be" based on the content of their bars. Speaks highly of the parenting they received. And no cap or trying to give everyone a "participation trophy" as this generation has been conditioned to be afraid of competition and crowing someone(s) as #1 or The Winner. But ALL of them are my favorite. They are all handsome and adorable. I just learned of them two-weeks ago and I've been binging on them almost daily. I love the reaction videos. And shout out to the handsome Scru Face Jean. I love your channel. You could have reaction videos to your reactions. Smooches and hugs... What say you all? Am I right in my assessment? How do you see the collective? Everyone is pressed to say who is their favorite. And folks try to suggest Rio Los is the weakest link. To that, I say LIES. He's different and the anchor and as long as they stay bonded as they demonstrate--they will keep making each other better within the group. Rio is chill energy. That's who he is. He's STEADY. He's an anchor kind of man. I get the vibe that he will spaz on tracks only when he FEELS like it. Okay I'm done.

It’s Ras who killed this by a mile. You gotta listen a bunch more. Each line has 2-3 meanings.
  • Tobe is so good! Love how he includes his family in everything. Enough to make a grown man cry.
  • @ChefOG_Ra
They did their thing.....as always. EJ has definitely displayed more versatility but for me, it's Ras ALL DAY. Consistent depth, hard hittin bars and multiple flows that he's masterful with.
  • @rymilli
I’ve been riding with these guys, heavy. To see them on this come up makes my heart happy, they deserve it, we the people deserve it, hip hop deserves it.

YO. I sat here vibing chilling and feeling EVERYBODY! THEY ALLLLL FFFFFFFFFFFFFFIRE! But... When dude said "they gassin' you up until they pull up and un-lead-it" Stopped video. Threw my head phones. Went to get a burger. I swear this dude bout to make me change my life he keep throwing out bars like that. I want to the give the entire group the same type of props. You can hear the beef with the industry cooking and they all breathing fire... but come on man. Dude dropped so much heat I got hungry for a flame broiled immediately. Original Sonya Blade kiss of death on this one.
