  • I think you showed why so many hikers and outdoor enthusiasts really enjoy micro four-thirds cameras. Having an 800mm camera lens that you can just tote around with you is amazing to anyone who grew up in the film days. I ALWAYS carry my MFT camera with me on hikes, the full frame almost always gets left when I'm not sure what I might shoot that day. Great video, Duade! Love your enthusiasm for the outdoors! Very infectious!
  • I watch a lot of wildlife photography videos and I can honestly say this is one of the best. I live in the UK so Australian birds are unknown to me so even more interesting to see and you captured them beautifully.. I like how you show both the finished and RAW shot, that is very instructive. I am close to my eighth decade and carry weight is now a serious issue for me when out birding, you have pretty much convinced me with this video that my future lies with Olympus. I've subscribed and look forward to more content.
  • Enjoyed watching you enjoy the outing. I know MFT will never be "better" than full-frame BUT there's a lot to be said for the sense of freedom you get with a lighter kit and with the performance improvements of the OM-1 and noise reduction software I think micro-four-thirds will become an increasingly viable option for serious photographers. Thanks for giving MFT a chance and a platform.
  • Great video Duade. A beautiful setting. The OM1 is a fab camera which offers so many features for the wildlife photographer. I make videos on my youtube channel mostly about the OM1 and it's a camera and m43 a system, that are very misunderstood by many people. Great results for less than the competitors. Well done😀😀
  • It's just wonderful to see how happy a bloke can be rolling around in mud on a cold morning trying to get a photo of a small bird going about its day. I can totally understand it of course, as you said "where else would you rather be?". As for whether to go out or not, as they say "the more you go out, the luckier you get". Nice work Duade, nature is just the best.
  • I love how you show the raw files before editing. Looking at a lot of photography channels you'd think the images came straight out of camera perfect. Also fun to see you with the OM Systems camera. I've been an Olympus fan for years, though I didn't get an Olympus m43 camera until 2019. Still using that E-M1 Mark II today.
  • Thanks for sharing this photo outing. I must say that I am blown away by the auto focus capabilities of that OM-1 that you just shown. Back-lit or low light , the camera looked like it was picking up and tracking the birds effortlessly. I have been looking for an « affordable » lightweight mirorless replacement for my D500 and 200-500 combo for a couple of years now, and I think that without trying, you just sold me on that OM system combo.
  • @mattdp846
There's something special about this video. It gives off good vibes.
  • you are the best reviewer, nobody wants to see some random youtuber talking for hours about camers specs in their "office". We wanna he how the equipment handles on the field and you cover everything that we all really cared about. good job as always
  • @TITAOSTEIN
It is fantastic that we have so many wonderful Cameras capable of high level wildlife photography! The OM1 give us the freedom to be in the nature with no complaints about weather, or capabilities, or size and weight! I just bring my OM1 (+ Oly 12-100 and Leica 100-400) for my climbing adventures in the Mountains and combine my favorite hobbies perfectly! I really hope that the M43 system remain strong, keeping profitability in a FF hyped world. Like you I use different systems and sometimes FF is the system to choose, but in MANY occasions I just want to be in the Nature to FEEL the Nature, and I want the right equipment with me that gives me this Freedom!
  • @OhHeyItsLou
What I loved most about this video had nothing to do with the gear. Admittedly, I've been fascinated by the OM Systems offerings. At 8:13 I saw someone who was overcome by their life's passion. There was no place you'd rather be in that moment. This is what's so inspiring about wildlife photography. The heavens declare the Glory of God, Amen.
  • @RexsHangar
Long time lurker on this channel, but I just wanted to say how awesome and positive your videos are. I do wildlife photography as a fun way of getting out of the office, and I've learned a heap from your videos :D
  • @TL-xw6fh
Having watched so many of the recent YT videos, it seems like the OM-1 is the best camera ever made for sports and wildlife photography. It's capability is simply amazing!
  • When you have fun we all have fun. The whole vlog was absolutely stunning and it thrilled my little heart and soul. If I made a choice of favourite, it would be those backlit shots of the Red-kneed Dotterels. Thank you for rising early and getting covered in mud yet again :)
  • What an awesome session you had Duade. It's funny how the times you don't feel like going and you force yourself to head out are the sessions where you get your best photos.
  • Great photos! As many have suggested I would also recommend trying out the 300mm F4 IS PRO lens, its quite a bit sharper even with the MC-14 teleconverter and has way bettery image stabilization, because the 300mm supports Sync IS. I also recommend ETTR with Olympus/OM SYSTEM cameras. The sensors aren't that good at recovering shadows, but are capable of recovering highlights. Even with the higher ISOs the noise isn't a problem, because of the great noise reduction softwares we have now (eg. Lightroom new denoise, DxO Pure Raw etc.)
  • Fantastic light and spot Duade. Love my OM-1 but I use the 300 F4 and sometimes the 1.4 teleconverter. This lens is razor sharp as well as the 40-150 F 2.8. The 100-400 is a little soft at the long end but still a great lens. I would love to be able to afford the 150-400 F4.5 that is the ultimate lens for birding. As for tracking, the only time I use it is for a clear shot eg a bird with only sky background, try the pro capture you will be amazed ! Cheers from New Zealand
  • I own the OM1 and the 300 f4 and I LOVE it! I switched over from Sony A1 and never looked back! It’s such a fun camera to use. If you think the OM1 and 100-400 is great, try the OM1 and 300 f4 combo because it’s pure magic and the images are just👌🏼
  • Really interested to see what settings you used for both stationary and birds in flight. I pair with my OM-1 both the 300mm lens and the 100-400, but have struggled with the latter (obviously nothing to do with the operator😁). Your process for editing the images will be interesting to see as well. Great video as always.👍
  • What an amazing session that must have been! Thanks a lot for sharing this with us :D
