Published 2020-09-25
Take a peek into the mind of Kim Jung Gi.

Kim Jung Gi holds a Guinness World Record for the “Longest drawing by an individual for the Fisheye Art” Illustration category. This mighty Korean artist is known and adored by artists all around the world for his epic drawings and illustrations. Kim has published five sketchbooks that gather nearly 3500 pages of his art. He’s also published two comics in collaboration with the famous French writer Jean-David Morvan: “SpyGames” and “McCurry, NYC, 9/11”. His work has attracted and inspired millions - not only for the incredible drawings he creates but for his remarkable ability to visualize drawings before making a single mark. He draws on anything made of paper, from sketchbooks to toilet paper, receipts, and giant artboards. Today, when he is not working in advertising for some Korean company or managing AniChanga, his drawing school in Seoul, he’s traveling the world to meet people and get inspired.

I remember watching this a couple years ago in the midst of the pandemic. It inspired me to keep a private journal of sketches. It pains me to learn this man passed away today. What a loss for the art world.
  • ...I trained so hard and became bald. So powerful nobody can ever beat me...- Saitama's this statement fits justly into Master Kim's scenario.
  • @MonkeyDIvan
It's hard for people that aren't artists to understand how truly skilled he is. His skill is beyond masterful.

Watching him draw fills me with wonder, his skill was truly amazing. It saddens me, the thought that we won't be spoiled with any more of his art. I always eagerly awaited his new sketchbooks and I'm happy to own one of his drawings. Life is so fickle, he will be missed, one of the GOATs.
  • @TheLYagAmi
Rip GOAT!! Came back here as soon as I heard the news. Your work will continue to inspire generations long after you are gone!
  • Wow. This is like Michelangelo level of art. For Mike he said the sculpture was there he just needed to unearth it. This man’s the same. The drawings there, he just needs to ink it.

These type of artist are the closest we can get to understanding how God just creates. It’s so exhilarating to watch him create from nothing.
