Bud Elliott's "Blue-Chip Ratio" for 2024 is out, as he lists 16 teams that can win the National Championship this year based on his Blue Chip Ratio, which evaluates how many blue chip recruits teams have signed over their past four recruiting classes. Based on which teams have won the National Championship every year, only teams that make this list actually go on to win the championship at the end of the season. Which teams from the SEC made this year's cut?

Also, with the EA Sports College Football game coming out soon, we run through their Offense and Defense overall team rankings that came out this week. You may be surprised by some of those rankings as both Alabama and Georgia rank near the top in both. But LSU and Florida with defenses ranked in the top 25?

    Their def rankings are insane. LSU(28ppg, #18 SOS), FLA(28ppg, #4 SOS) & UNC(27ppg, #13 SOS), USC(34ppg, #48 SOS)? Over NEB(18.25ppg, #40 SOS), MIZ(20ppg, #6 SOS), OLE MIS(22ppg, #5 SOS), TEN(20ppg, #23 SOS), ETC?

    Not counting transfers cannot keep going. Quinn Ewers is a transfer. This system counts Arch Manning, but not Quinn Ewers. Arch will probably not play significantly this year. So far it is working out, but Texas main weapons are transfers (QB, WR,DL, return man). It can't be that hard to include transfers, since we know what they were back when.

    Recruiting rankings can tell you which players are good but not which teams are good.

    This is what pissed me off about Hugh Freeze and fellow Auburn fans claiming Auburn doesn't have the talent to compete yet. That's BS and it has been BS. Auburn's all time worst recruiting class was ranked 21 in the country. Im so tired of excuses. go out there and f*cking win some football games.

    Things change. The fact that Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, USC, Penn State and TAM are in this "blue chip championship" list render it obsolete. Transfer portal, NIL, 12 team playoff have completely altered the CFB landscape. Blue chip recruiting is still a factor but no longer the ruling lock for a championship.
