Hey there gamers! Today's video took quite a while to piece together. One of the most common requests I get on my livestreams are centered around advice concerning my method for decor and design. Many players I speak to mention that the design process can sometimes be overwhelming, so I made this video. The video serves to break down and simplify the design process and help player like me, who can at times struggle with decor.

  • Splitting into smaller sections is an absolute genius idea. I’ve hardly decorated because I get so overwhelmed and just give up. You are by far the most helpful content creator when it comes to DDLV.. so glad I found your channel
  • I have ADHD as well, so i struggle with overwhelm in highly customizable games like dreamlight and animal crossing. working on things small section by small section is the ONLY thing that's worked for me, and i'm so happy to see someone else do this and share this advice. dumping items in an open area for a visual on what is available to you is also a huge one. i can not remember or even visualize what i have available to me from memory.
  • @jengibs
My method is extremely similar! I also have ADHD and get easily overwhelmed (and subsequently lose interest) very quickly! My first step is clear everything away and do the pathing just like you. However, my very first step with pathing is to establish routes that go to each mining rock in a biome. That way when I'm gathering resources I have a pre-established route that takes me everywhere I need to go. Then I fill in the rest. It's great to break up areas into manageable chunks, like you said, but this can also create a very efficient route for gathering resources and encourages me not to skip out on those tasks.

I don’t actually think I’ve ever seen a valley better than this. It’s amazing!
  • @jewelofthenight
Thank you so much. I actually found this really helpful! I also have ADHD and as much as I love decorating, I struggle with it (both irl and in life sims) because I deal with the same obstacles you do. Another thing I have to remind myself of is, "Just get started. Work on one area and just get started. It doesn't have to be perfect right away; you can always change things." It's easier to get into a flow/avoid getting stuck and get more inspired once I just start and see how things begin to look.
  • I really like the concept of splitting it into smaller sections I have decorated 3 biomes and this will for sure help me figure out some of my bigger builds ! Thanks!!
  • The sectioning tip was GENIUS! I also have adhd and have STRUGGLED to do much decorating at all, because it has felt so overwhelming. I’m gonna try this method! 🤩🥰
  • @camilesouzaa
I've been applying the "divide into smaller sections" method to my pumpkin crops too. It feels so much easier to harverst and plant like that. Now I'll apply this do decorations too, thank you.
  • @kissmyaxe9
I love your wording so much. Promoting individuality while teaching us some of your tips!
  • @GirardiMomma2
Such a great video!! The pathing first method has helped me so much!! I was always overwhelmed with thinking about THE BIG PICTURE… or whole biome 😅 and then it broke it up into smaller pieces like you said. Soooo helpful!! ♥️♥️♥️
  • @Runitsadri514
Thank you so much for this video! So much inspo. And I’m finally loving this game again after giving it a long break after just overwhelming myself. Your valley is amazing!
  • @tonikstraw
Thank you for this video, I've avoided decorating because of feeling too overwhelmed. The part of starting with an empty biome and laying down paths is so helpful!
  • @nz9450
Thanks for helping us with these tips. It can be overwhelming to decorate at first but this video helped out so much especially with starting out w/ paths.
  • @nodesire9291
great vid! I deal with anxiety in general so the tip to break things down is really helpful.
  • @AllenCH
Thank you Senpai. My ADD brain appreciates the tips.
  • @Hannahbalism
This was by far the most helpful design tips video i have seen!
  • I've learned a lot of tips from your videos! Some stuff I knew, but a whole lot I didn't. I love how you're so adamant about letting people know to do their own thing and be creative! There ISNT a wrong way to deco your valley! It can seem so daunting when you feel like you're not 'doing as well' as other people. BUT I promise practice makes perfect! As long as you think it's pretty, and cozy that's all that should ever matter <3 I love the idea of breaking things down into smaller sections. I'm too ADHD to keep up with it if I don't. I also haven't played very long yet, and I've been struggling to gather materials to decorate!
  • I always look forward to your posts!! Thank you for being so helpful. Ps, congrats on the red fox!!!! 👏
  • This is super helpful! Now I need to spend a few days working on my valley!
