In the first installment of our Western Scotland series, Tron explores the remote and rugged Machrihanish Golf Club in Western Scotland. We'll have plenty more content to come from this trip, which occurred in late April, 2023. Presented by Footjoy.

Top lines from this eposode: 5th hole before hitting 5 wood into no man's land: "shade it one side or the other?" 7th hole approach: "I'm having trouble controlling my spin..." Making the turn: "Just start swinging the club like an athlete.." Approach on 17 after hitting a total of 3 greens in regulation and not hitting a single approach to within 40 feet of the hole: "You like a 142-144 shot?"

Thanks for the Film Room, Tron “Brawny” Carter
  • @hungry_arch
You’re not kidding, TC. The drone footage is bonkers. Feels like you’re on another planet. Keep this stuff coming boys. Love NLU.

I’ve been waiting for the video for a while, we need a trap draw to hear Tron’s thoughts on the beautiful west coast of Scotland, not just the golf courses but the mountains and beaches
  • @MrGag962u
Most of the talk is about the beauty of the course (and rightfully so), but the surrounding area is just absolutely breathtaking.
  • @alexbone98
If this is the new crash course style review for courses, you guys nailed it.
  • @Gilliemist
Loved this, great fight all round from Tron and unbelievable production quality - per usual
  • @SalleGolfs
Maybe the most underrated course in Scotland, proper links golf

break 75 from the tips? Tron.. great desire... but i have never.. not in one video ... seen you possess that type of game...

wow great vid guys, place looks amazing. TC that was 2nd 18, walking and windy. Has to be hard playing Mic'd up knowing we all going to see this but cut yourself some slack brother. Negative self talk relatable but tough listen all the same. Keep these coming guys, man I want to get over there even more now!
  • Absolutely stunning course and lucky to have played this with a guy I’m pleased to call a friend

Did not know that footjoy also made ski/snowboard pants.

It's easy to play armchair quarterback playing your home course in benign conditions and watching this and saying "vanity cap, 1.3 index blah blah." Playing a course of this level of difficulty in windy conditions will cause anyone (even pros) to struggle. Props to Tron for grinding it out and posting it on camera.
  • @My-2-Cents
Looks like a magical place. I felt sorry for the others trying to enjoy a special day at a special place having to listen to Tron's bellyaching all afternoon.

Can’t believe I fell on this, my favourite YouTube channel playing my favourite golf course!!!! Love it!!!
  • @mancest
16:45 - "Ari is probably thinking this guy sucks". If Ari is everyone watching... spot on Tron.

Is your map at the beginning a hint as to what’s to come? Shiskine on Arran is stunning. Corrie golf course on the island is also like full size crazy golf, and there’s a putting Green in the centre of one of the towns…it’s a real golf island.

Machrihanish is my golfing nirvana. The wind changes the course so much which is part of the magic of the course. A very good friend of mine believes that an elephant is buried under the 5th green !!
