HOW I PACK FOR TRAVEL AS AN ULTRA MINIMALIST✨

Last fall I thought I was going away on a one night trip, so in a somewhat minimal way, I packed a clean extra T-shirt, one pair of underwear and a toothbrush. Then life happened, and I ended up being away three weeks from home, including a week in Rome. And I survived… My daughters met up with me at the airport, and I asked them to bring a dress and my passport. But that was all. I’m proud of myself for making it so long with so few items. And it really wasn’t very hard either, washing clothes by hand every night with hotel soap is ok

I am obsessed with minimalism and simple living, but a house, husband, 18 YO son and dog prevents me from going as minimal in my home as I would like. Love your videos and wanted to wish you a very happy and blessed 40th birthday and Temecula getaway!! I live in the Inland Empire a few hours north of you and just celebrated my 50th in April with a trip to St. Martin with my husband, brother and SIL. I planned a capsule wardrobe, but still overpacked. I am working on it and your videos are very inspiring.

I’m half Greek, half Dutch, living in the Netherlands, 39 years old and mom of two: daughter Artemis (8) and son Elías (5). I started my ‘minimalist’ journey as I got pregnant and became a mom. I have to say that I find minimalism fascinating, but my own minimalism journey goes with ups and downs. Happy birthday Alicia! I hope it is a wonderful peaceful spiritual experience for you. I am an over packer. I have tried to pack light and every time I do it doesn’t work out. Earlier this year I went to Idaho and Utah and saw that the highs were going to be in the seventies so I packed accordingly. I missed the part about the crazy winds they were having and didn’t realize that without the humidity I’m used to it would feel much colder. I spent the whole trip freezing and saying “I packed so wrong.”

Temecula has some great wineries and wine! Great place for a birthday trip!! Enjoy!!!

I’m going to Alaska fairly soon and it’s long overdue! I’m looking forward to going to Chena hotsprings. I love the idea of taking yourself on a solo trip with air bnb for your birthday! Most people wouldn’t consider that as an option! I love your videos and that you did an outfit modeling sesh at the end! I aspire to pack lightly too and try to each time now the same way….each time I travel I grab less and less and find that I still don’t use everything I packed. I also find that no one knows how many times I’ve outfit repeated so it truly doesn’t matter what I wear as long as I’m pleased with it myself and it fits the situation.
