Tour our 105 room French château after 4 years of restoration!

Published 2024-07-07
4 years ago we purchased the magnificent Château de Purnon. Thought beyond salvation and destined to be lost forever we blindly took on the task of saving her and undertaking one of France’s largest private historical restoration projects

This week we swing open the doors of a domain that has always been kept private to give you a tour of how we are slowly reawakening and restoring her precious interiors.

  • Applause to the construction restorations workers…. 👏 they work so hard, long hours and do amazing work.

If this doesn't violate your personal comfort level, I would love to see a video about how a couple from Australia met and somehow became the owners of the largest private restoration project in France. Hollywood would call it a prequel. It must be a fascinating tale filled with incongruous twists and turns. Also in a more humorous note, I'm wondering if Felicity can remember the last time she spent a whole day without wearing work boots. Love your channel.

Q& A: I have enjoyed immensely seeing the restoration of the beautiful old spaces in this incredible chateau. Would you consider making a ‘behind the scenes’ video of how you and Tim live and cope with the ‘no shower’ etc situations? Your living quarters, adapting to France, have you made new friends? Hardships etc. Thank you Karen Horak from Brisbane, Queensland 🇦🇺

She is a beautiful lady thankfully in very safe hands now, this gorgeous old lady will be dancing, twirling and showing off very soon she is coming alive in pure splendour she is coming alive.
  • 105 rooms wow! I must say what you all have accomplished thus far is amazing! Seeing the statues back in place is really great to see. Not many people would have the guts to take on such an overwhelming project but you did and that takes a lot of love and dedication ❤Shes going to be absolutely beautiful!
  • Nice to see the progress internally. How exciting to finally get a shower with running water 🚿 thanks for sharing your journey. 🇦🇺
  • Especially gratifying to see the progress on the first floor. A true challenge to create bathrooms where there were none and to have them fit so well into their 18th century setting. You’re doing marvelous work. Keep it up.
  • That older blue wallpaper in that bedroom is simply beautiful, it's just gorgeous, I hope you make that whole room using that beautiful older wallpaper 💓
  • @CMRCC07
I absolutely love that 19 century wallpaper in the bedroom. It is beautiful. Everything else is coming together so nicely.
  • @Sarah-fy3qf
For the Q&A you have 105 rooms, could we please have a break down of what they will all be, how many bedrooms, sitting rooms etc Love the work you are doing 🇬🇧
  • @katehobbs2008
Felicity I hope that you do occasionally get to put on a pretty dress and have a lovely dinner somewhere. You are a beautiful woman, celebrate that in between the hard work (speaking as one who has worked hard and remembers some lovely dresses). It all passes!
  • First, congrats on all the new progress; the history books will remember you well. Also, I wanted to tell you the sounds or you and your husband's voices are so calm, cool, & authentic. I feel they add something deeply meaningful to the story of your home. I quite enjoy your videos Thank you, DA (Vancouver, WA - USA)

Extraordinary! This would be a dream project, history, architecture, and most important, Trades. Bless you all for taking it on with grace. I feel a French envy whisper in my ear. ❤

Q&A: Please tell me you take the time to sit back and giggle with glee over owning such an exquisite property! It must feel like you're living in a fairytale at least once a day 😁 Somewhere in between the leaks, crumbling walls and never ending to-do lists...it must feel surreal to live there! ❤
  • @user-zc9jo8ks5p
