As someone said: "Don't be sad because it's over. Be happy because it happened." Wishing you my best on the future!
  • @Pid0
Thanks for all Shyguymask! You made history with your channel and now you're gonna have a more peaceful life, all the best to you man!
  • @0kayRyan
This announcement is insane to me because this feels, surreal? I always watched your videos after school because I simply loved the concepts you came up with and how fun they were, and still checked out videos even when I began to grow up and get responsibilities. So, seeing how you’ve done what you wanted to now, have a fantastic time, Shyguymask :)

It was an honor being able to watch you grow your channel and develop through posting, we'll all miss you Shyguymask Goodbye :)

You, whoisthisgit, and Skawo were some of my favorite text only style YouTubers, Thanks for the memories and happy trails
  • @dino.dino.
It's crazy how some people think that Youtubers can just go forever, as if they arent real people. I'll miss you, Shyguymask.

  • Live long and prosperous! Thank you for having such an engaging channel with good content over the years!

It was great having you my guy, we will all miss you, but also understand your decision. Do what makes you happy.
  • @garblites
Despite everything, I still see you. In random comment sections, steam forums and my recommendations.
  • You more than earned this conclusion man, I don’t watch your content a lot, but when I do, it’s always well thought out, well edited, and enjoyable to watch. I’d like to sincerely thank you for making such quality content for us over time.

Well, it’s a shame to see such a legend go. Thank you for the transparency. See you, king.
  • I didn't even find out about this until just now when I was curious how you were doing. This is the definition of bittersweet, I've been watching you since 2020 and I loved your silent commentary. I'm gonna miss this, but the Journey was so much fun.

It was a good run. And these days I don't think anyone can blame a creator for choosing to leave YouTube behind. As you say, it's mostly just a lot of stress and fighting for one's rights to even have one's content left alone... I like to remember the past with fondness. Stuff like finding your channel after seeing a comment by you under K. Rool's "Finest Hour" following his Smash Bros. announcement, seeing your video on the importance of graphics and atmosphere, the occasional Touhou stuff, etc... But though I like to remember the past with fondness, we don't live in the past. The future is where we'll spend the rest of our lives, after all. And so I wish you good luck in the future, Shyguy. May your life be a good one, and may YouTube plague you no longer but instead just be a mere source of entertainment. ^^

A true legend has left us 😢😢 A moment of silence to this man who had made us remember old and fun games and introduced us to lesser known games 😢😢

I’ve seen many channels die or be abandoned over the years, but this doesn’t really feel like that to me. Content is stopping, yes, but it’s not because of some stupid controversy, excessive burnout, or something like that. There’s just nothing more to talk about. Nothing more to do. As Shyguymask said themselves, their job is pretty much complete, the chapter, over. We’re all able to leave this on a nice, satisfying note, giving cheers to one of the biggest gifts to games of all kinds. SGM, I’m happy that you’re happy with where you’ve left off, here, and I’m so glad that you seem excited for what this next chapter in your life may shape up to be. Keep on truckin’, you absolute legend. It’s been great watching you push games I’ve never even played to their absolute limits.
  • @MrEnder1
I understand why you're leaving, being a youtuber can really be stressful. I don't really know your situation, but I'm guessing you're a full time youtuber, so I'd really be interested in what you're gonna be doing next. If you aren't/weren't a full time youtuber then I understand how stressful it can be even more, as it's the same as having school, which I've got personal experience with. Wish you success in whatever you're gonna be pursuing.
  • Heya, it's been a good while. But since this is your final call, I have things to say. I've been a pretty long time viewer (even preceding the time I got invested in the Calamity mod for Terraria), though I almost hardly ever watch or even come by your videos in the first place anymore these days (no hard feelings I hope). But I first discovered your channel through your "Can you beat" challenge videos in a bunch of different games (even binge-watched them at some point I believe) and when I saw you had some involvement in Calamity, I was kinda astounded! Also, if you're getting a faint sense of familiarity or deja vu from my name (which I highly doubt), lemme bring this up for a moment; don't know if you remember this, but you commented on a community post of mine about struggling with ULTRAKILL's Flesh Prison and I had to rub my eyes for a sec when I daw that comment. Your sudden appearance alone made me yap in excitement for a good 10 seconds! I presume you had randomly bumped into me from that XP-00 Hypnos theme video which took off my channel months ago. Sorry if this is starting to come off as plugging unneeded self-promo, I've been growing pretty insecure as of late. I'm fine if you choose not to leave a response (or even notice this comment in the first place), you aren't obligated to anyway, and a heart will suffice! With that out of the way, I just wanna bid you one happy farewell and wish you the best of luck moving forward to your next chapters in life! I'm just happy that I got to be part of this one, even if it amounted equally to a single ant in an entire ecosystem.
