Four years after the Kaethrani's defeat, Zaries prepares to leave for space. Equipped with his powerful Starbreaker armor, he is prepared to open a new chapter in his life. Zerec, however, believes that Zaries desires are selfish, and that he needs to stay and fight remaining threats. Zaries' arrogance and Zerec's volatility cause the disagreement to spark into a violent clash of wills, and what started as a simple argument rapidly spirals out of control, putting whole worlds at risk as Zaries unleashes his full power and Zerec reveals deadly secret weapons...

His reasoning was that he needed Zaries’ assistance in fighting the mess which the conflict with the Kaethrani left. Uhm, that suit looks like it can handle most troubles along those lines just fine. Edit: And so can Zereck himself, apparently.

I like how Zerec decides to just go "bitch you ain't goin' NOWHERE" Edit: Also, can we just take a moment to realize that Zerec was a god in his own right, but never went all-out, "kill-everything-in-my-path-and-leave-no-survivors?" Edit 2: Also, "Starbreaker" lowkey sounds more like the name of a MOC, rather than an episode for a series. But, not my choice to make, so...grain of salt, 'n all that.
