It intrigues me how fighters naturally adopt a certain style. Even though this is an old video, you can still distinguish who is who, based only on how they move.

Vergils combos are years ahead of their time. The improvements I think he can make is rolling better with the punches so he dont get hit with solid shots and learning when to stop hitting during a combo so he doesn't leave himself vulnerable .

Ryan’s speed has improved since then but still looks likes this in the pros. Virgil Ortiz on the other hand looks like a completely different fighter. He’s progressed so much.

This was honestly more entertaining to watch than some of the pro fights we’ve had lately. But also, I guess Ortiz has always fought like he’s out for blood.

Vergil was the aggressor, he man-handled Ryan, and he landed the heavier shots. Plus, out of the few shots that Ryan did throw, Vergil caught most of them on the gloves and arms. VERGIL WON! It can be said that both of these guys have improved since this fight, but IMO, If they boxed again, Vergil wins again, only easier.

All I know is Vergil is a late bloomer and clearly the better fighter now. It’s insane how small he was and Ryan and him are about the same age.
