Alexander Mountain Fire grows to 6,840 acres; new evacuations ordered

A fire burning in Larimer County has grown to more than 6,800 acres, with new evacuation orders issued Wednesday afternoon.

The Alexander Mountain Fire, which started Monday in the mountains west of Loveland, is one of three burning along the Front Range. Officials said Wednesday that no loss of structures or infrastructure has been reported in the fire.

    Let's do better forest management and remove the dead undergrowth. At least with the fire aftermath, it will open up the terrain for new grasses, shrubs, and tree growth to better the habitat for the wildlife to repopulate with better nurishment. Fires aren't necessarily bad. Nature takes care of itself. imo
