I got the notification for this video and had to a double take because I thought it said racism tier list for a second
  • @GreenKnightMods
I find it funny how you said that the mammoth basically is too big to go anywhere irl because whenever modders try to use it in custom multiplayer maps we are like “oh yeah, this thing is way too big.” I still want one irl tho lol
  • TBF, there's a scientist in Halo 4 that mentions how the mantis is used as a mech loader when not equipped for combat. I think most people agree that while mechs aren't the best for combat, they are pretty handy for logistics work.
  • @alanderek1231
I think the mantis was the unsc's attempt at answering the wide tread problem of the scorpion in the silliest way they could

Actually for a space craft you want extra drag for re-entry. I've always been under the assumption that's the only real purpose of the wings on the pelican and the reason the saber has the extra wings. These are vehicles designed mainly for space travel and re-entry. In space aero basically doesn't matter at all and in re-entry the more drag the better. It's why all craft we have for re-entry go to the flatter side when re-entering as it slows the craft down faster and in the thinner atmosphere so it heats up less.
  • @Heiligesbrot1
You forgot some big thing about the Pelican It can carry not only 10 Troops But a Warthog or even a Scorpion.
  • @Meravokas
Saber was also meant for space/high orbit superiority only. They were launched from the ground via *Rockets* Wing tip thrusters were primarily meant as afterburners, which while A certain liability, cutting the afterburner and compensating with power shifts to individual primary engines to start course correction. Along with the fact that they more than likely have secondary maneuvering emergency 'thrusters' much like we see in other sci-fi for finer maneuvering and also in Halo itself for direct evasive maneuvers on the lateral and horizontal axis. So In either case, for modern military integration it shouldn't be on the list as we have Zero applicability for the craft. Even for the Long Sword it's only half applicable because while it can provide ground strikes, CAS/atmospheric air superiority was primarily meant to be from properly outfitted pelicans and Army/air force Short Sword fighter craft.

The only reason I could think of why the Mammoth is so big is that its meant to be a mobile fortress where troops can resupply and vehicles can get repairs while being on the battlefield, or it was the only vehicle design that could carry that large ass mac gun. Either way, I think 343 was just trying to make a UNSC version of the scarab and it ended up looking very impractical.
  • @agonefire
I would say the Hornet is more like a Littlebird than an Apache. The Sparrowhawk is more equivalent to the heavy attack chopper.
  • @TheTrytix
Fun thing about the Warthog, is that there is actually some lunatic out there who made a functional full-scale replica of exactly that. So, obviously then, the warthog would be S tier in Realism, because someone already made it IRL.
  • @cplhotpockets
I love the falcon, but do you think its capacity is a bit low (3 passengers, 2 gunners) or maybe since those were spartans it could fit in more marines if optimized for that
  • @Spartan_Tanner
The Sabres in Reach are YSS but the ones in Infinite are FSS, Y means prototype, indicating that a role for it wasn't already agreed upon or its intended role was hidden? Like how the FP-45 Liberator was called Flare Pistol in order to make its true purpose unknown. SS could mean Space Ship.
  • @Quickpatch12
Thee Mantis may be in F tier, but I still love it and want it in Halo Infinite
  • @kabuki_kitten7129
15:22 i think the falcon is more like the little bird, for small insertions but can also be used as an attack aircraft
  • @cplhotpockets
Thanks for the shoutout chief, just that i was never in the military. I appreciate that it looks that way tho
  • The fact that the Wasp is a light reconnaissance vehicle gave me a cool idea to make it unique in a sandbox where the Hornet and the Falcon are also present. The Wasp could have the special ability to highlight all enemies in a certain area around it (maybe all enemies appearing onscreen, idk) or some other feature that provided info to the rest of the team, making it more than just another aircraft that can hover and shoot. This would allow it to have a special place in the sandbox and leave the role of small attack vehicle to the Hornet

2 things 16:08 in that specific mission I've found that crouching with the mantis has actually helped me. Maybe if the mantis had smaller auxiliary legs with its main legs to crawl faster and then stood up when it needed to fire above cover it would be better? For the warthog and the others in the big 3, in lore they're hydrogen powered and those containers hold water so it's a great behind enemy lines vehicle with refuel being so simple
  • @Nostripe361
Funny to see this after watching the video another channel did making their own unsc strike force. They hated the warthog and razer back because they weren’t fully armored around the crew positions
  • @Skylancer727
The issue with the falcon in the real world is the location of the propellers make it a hazard for the crew resulting in constantly down forces on those on the sides and making it incredibly hazardous to bail or parachute from. We see these exact issues with the osprey. Yes it can carry a single vehicle and people can jump from it, but they have to jump from it in motion and from the rear like a plane, not like a copter as the downforces can throw people into a spin or screw with their parachute if it opens early.
