You could try light hold mousse with a light spray of sea salt or texture spray. Apply mousse each section before curling and spray sea salt or texturizer after to add grip and grit. But a light amount or it will have the opposite effect. You want light to medium hold easy to brush out mousse. If that doesn’t work then it’s the rollers. As a last ditch effect try leaving them in for a minimum of 3hrs with some type of cap to contain body heat to aid in forming the curls for a better and stronger curl

I put them in my naturally curly hair and My hair looked like Hagrid, put mousse before, any strong hold mousse, I use tresemme on my blown out hair, heat the rollers like 8-10 minutes and then leave them as long as possible, then use a strong hold hairspray and don’t rake your curls. My hair came out so nice.

I think you might get the results you want if you put some gel or mousse in before putting the curlers in… before I cut my hair short that’s what I used to do and it worked well
  • @LizzieDripping67
I’ve just got these my first attempt produced great results, without products and I can only manage a ponytail lol I can’t wait to see how I do once I have managed them , but I left in for 20 mins

The Ultimate way to curl is with steam setters - the look holds much longer. Without the steam, they're virtually useless for ppl with long, thick hair.

My hair flops instantly too. And frizzes! Best luck I've ever had was sleeping in pink foam rollers (slightly uncomfortable!) . Even better if hair is a teeny bit damp.

I enjoy your content so much, always detailed, you're also very funny... i love the hair content girl
  • @stokeygaal
Try starting the roller in the centre of the hair and then wrap the the bottom section around the roller by hand (if that makes sense) rolling straight from the bottom gives the ends of your hair the majority of the heat and the weight of your hair will pull the curls out. I'm no expert but that's what I've seen on other tutorials. Thinking of purchasing these myself...unsure now.

Oh wow! I am a curly girl myself - and I am good at making the hair, too 😁, but this is just straight straight straight hair. Like - it is not bad - if you wanted to straighten your hair 🥳, but no, this is not giving that bouncy polished look🥴. Thank you, I will pass these.
  • Hello Jaymfs. I was watching very carefully Your video and your process with curling. The thing is that naturally You have already curly hair :) so You are making straight and then You are trying to get bigger curls...so I believe this also can be a one of reasons... And one more thing..I have the same product Moroccan oil, its treatment and You are putting veeeery big amount of the product :) For all hear You need much smaller amount, its oily and of course can be also the reason to not get nice curls. Hope I helped it. By the way..I order yesterday Remington, I will try it also. Good luck to my hair also :))
  • I had the opposite result! My hair curled too well and made my hair look really short 😂 I need to practice where to place them and how to roll them for best results / achieve the look I want. I’ve tried using curling wands and the curls fall out immediately. So these have been my best results so far but a lot of it I think is to do with type of hair. My hair is kind of half frizzy half curly so prob works quite well ok that type of hair compared to naturally very curly perhaps
  • @primalumina
It doesn’t work because you blow dry first. We need heat to curl hair because heat gets water out of the hair. If the hair is straight during evaporation, the hair will remain straight. If it is curled, it remains curled. If the hair is already dry before curling, there will be no more evaporation and hair stays the same as before curling. 😉
  • Thank you very much for your episode. My hair is long, long down to my undies length. I use a curling wand - a very old one - and it works a treat. Thought rollers may be easier. Don't think I will be wasting my money. G'day from Australia 👏🏻👏🏻🌻🌻😃😃
  • @leenahex
I really wonder if these would work if you put them in very lightly misted brushed out curly hair. You would probably need a lot more rollers but its something I've wanted to try to get a more vintage 1950's style hair with volume and maybe some pomade? Definitely could be cool to test!
  • @GEJ310
I have always found that I get problems if I straighten my hair and then curl my hair, maybe try to wait a while if you can maybe a day will work? Also you have very long hair so you have to take weight into account, and hairspray straight after
  • You look so cute in them. I look like a grandma in rollers 😂. I used to have those, but mine didn't last long. The plastic started melting one day and I had to throw them out.
  • @hhholmes714
Here because I had the exact same issue ugh lol
