The latest issue of Game Informer has an article on Cuphead, and it reveals a bit more about the game: -The "fighting game" part is because you'll be up against a lot of unique bosses. There's even a level based on Street Fighter, where you fight two boxing frogs in a bar reminiscent of a Street Fighter stage. They even wear Ryu and Ken's colors and shoot fireballs from their hands! -The story is about Cuphead and Mugman trying to clear their gambling debts with the devil by retrieving some kind of item that he covets. -You can also preform a parrying move, the Straw Slap, to deflect certain attacks. It can only be done while jumping, and it can only deflect attacks that are shiny and pink. It comes into play on a level where you're riding a handcar on a railroad and fighting a ghostly train on the other track. You have to Straw Slap two pink orbs on the handcar to move it left and right and avoid the train's attacks. -There are six 1930s cartoons in particular that the game's creators drew inspiration from: The Skeleton Dance, Swing You Sinners, Bimbo's Initiation, Minnie the Moocher, The Mad Doctor, and Balloon Land. You can watch those if you want to get an idea of what the game will be like. -There's going to be at least one part of the game where you fly in an airplane, fighting a giant bird that wears a birdhouse like a suit and spits eggs at you. You can pull the plane into a smaller, more nimble form to dodge attacks, but you can't shoot in this state. -The backgrounds are hand-painted watercolors layered together in a manner similar to the methods used in the '30s. They couldn't do it exactly the same way for technical reasons, but there's a lot of effort into making the visuals look authentic. -Other bosses will include a giant queen bee in a hive populated by businessman bees, and a clockwork arcade machine based on Space Invaders.

Looking at it, there's always two lines on that weapon bar, and one is always coloured, while the other line is grey. The line "Exploder" shows up in all of the shots. However, in two it's paired with "Wide Shot" and in one with "Peashoot". In one of the "Wide Shot" scenes, it's the one highlighted, and not in the other, though. This makes me think that there will be multiple weapons, but you'll only be able to carry two at a time. The controls show a "Switch Weapon" option, which seems to back that up. So the "Peashoot" would probably be the tiny rapid-fire seeds (which looked able to fire at an angle), and the "Wide Shot" is those bigger, slower projectiles (which only seem to fire straight). Maybe the "Exploder" is some kind of shotgun or missile attack?

When I saw the cuphead trailer. I was like AWESOME! Can't wait to play it. I hope they make one for popeye for nintendo. That would be an awesome tribute for nintendo and people who love popeye.

Evil pirate guy looks like Bluto from Popeye. Believe that's who you were referring to. But I do love the inked animation style and the whole 1930's look.

It's like Super Mario, it was mario as the protagonist but luigi is a side kick. You do not see the title called Mario And Luigi.

When is this out?,been looking forward to this game since the 30's.
  • @JERZEELOON
I like the cartoon style too bad I don't own an Xbox. Hopefully it comes to PC or ps4
  • I can't even watch this because you keep pausing the video and narrating obvious points of the game (it's a teaser trailer), and give no real elaborations. Let me see the visuals and then go back and comment on points of the video.
