You can't play again, unless you have the strength and the courage to sail the wild seas.

MAG was an experience like no other. Having 3 factions and 256 players made it such an insane battle. It’s a privilege to be able to look back at those memories and friends made.

Helldivers 1 is basically unplayable now. You load in and it shows the war being finished on the map and then the credits roll, then back to the menu.

MAG was my home for many years. I spent all of my time on Raven. I watched that game grow. I was there from the very beginning. I formed a clan there with a few hundred members. Though most have moved on, I still talk with a few, and I'm even attending the wedding of one of them this year. I met so many amazing people who are great team builders and leaders from that game. Domination may have been the highlight, but inquisition was one of my favorites, as well as acquisition. The game ran well for the hardware it was on, and my PS3 never gave out on me. It was such an amazing experience. And it was so good that it has ruined every single multiplayer experience since then. NOTHING compares to MAG. I've tried everything from PlanetSide to helldiver's. Absolutely nothing can touch MAG. The massive scale, the leadership roles, the huge fights over large swaths of territory. Battlefield hasn't even come close. It was a life changing experience that I'll forever be grateful for.

If it's not for sale anymore, it's free to play if you can find the file somewhere. Honestly delisting and shutting down single player games is just mind boggling and stupid.

MAG was one of my favorite games growing up… My brother and I literally played this for easily hundreds of hours, and when we heard about the servers shutting down, I still remember we played the whole day right up until they shut down the servers… Such amazing memories.

That lumber mill in Mag was the last choke point on Domination, so many players trying to push into one hallway, you could stand back and huck a grenade in and get like 10 kills per nade because everyone was just so stacked in there. It ended up being a deadlock where you couldn't push in and they couldn't push back because each team was just dumping explosives into that hallway to hold each other back

The "nice" thing of the Crew for me is: I avoid to buy ANY ubisoft game in the future, because....will they shut it down?

Silent Hills will always be that giant “what could have been” game that will haunt me forever
  • @cocoa_joey
I’m still mad Unreal Tournament 4 was killed…

LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2 have such a special spot in my heart, countless hours I spent as a kid figuring out how to make simple contraptions in the first game, then becoming some crazy hi-tech genius when the systems of the 2nd game came out
  • I bought "The Crew" 3 times over - PS4 physical copy, PS4 digital copy (with expansions) in a sale, and the PC version. I was looking forward to the day when I had a decent PC to play it on. It absolutely sickens me that Ubisoft just took away what I'd paid for, without even having the decency to drop a final patch to let it be played offline. Ubi will never see another cent of my money.

As a Destiny 2 player, I can’t agree more about the removal of campaigns from Destiny. It’s just such a devastating loss
  • I didn’t even need to watch to know that thumbnail was M.A.G. 256 players on PS3 and ran like butter. Almost a decade and nobody has come close to the experience I had playing it. SVER for life!

I’ve got PT, still play it from time to time. I still remember the first time I played it, such a good experience. That part with the eye paintings and red lights took me way too long to figure out lol

Companies would argue that when you buy a game, you're actually only buying a temporary license to play a digital IP, and that the publishers retain the right to retract that license at any time. I would argue that that isn't the prudence that the gaming industry was built on, and thus isn't the popular understanding of the consumer market, and that, as such; gaming licenses need to be extended ad infinitum, with no right for publishers to retract without significant advanced warning to consumers who purchased the license.

Honorable mentions: Driver San Francisco: delisted before people even got to know about it Deadpool: similar as DSF. Defiance: A super awesome MMO third person sci-fi looter shooter based on the TV series that shut down in 2021. I miss that game.

How is Battleborn not on this list? It was amazing, and I miss it so much.

When I saw the title and the thumb nail for MAG I had to see if it was actually on the list...my father and I spent so much time in MAG. It was pretty ahead of its time with up to 256 players and squad based combat.
