We can even tell if someone is using drugs or medications by looking at their eyes.

  • Eye doctors don't make a thorough exam like this. I had spondylosis since at least 2019. My eye doctor didn't see anything but in my primary care doctor tests spondylosis was discovered on xray.

My father in law had the copper colored rings around his eyes and yes for sure he has liver issues, we made sure his regular dr became aware if it so they are keeping up with his bloodwork. Personally youve helped me a lot understanding and treating my MGD. We ❤ you Dr Allen.

I got a concussion on the left side of my head recently and it caused me to have temporary aniscoria for about 24 hours. Went to urgent care, doctor barely looked at me or spent a little time asking me questions before sending me to the ER to get a CT for a possible brain bleed. When the ER doctor checked me out he actually took to proper steps and in the end decided I didn’t need at CT because there was no way I could have had a brain bleed from my injury. When I followed up with my pcp she said it’s normal for people to have 1-2mm difference in size of pupils. Just because they are different sizes doesn’t mean someone has had head trauma
  • I am so glad I came across your chanel and listened to the end. I have red eyes often, but the ophthalmologist didn't say anything thing other than having dry eye. I do have much pain inside the eye and it shoots to the whole side of the nose and ear. It's miserable. Thank you for this message!
  • I have to admit that I always find your eye videos interesting. It amazes me what the eyes can tell you especially concerning your health. Yvonne
  • @chidozieeboh4330
Great videos. As an eye doctor myself, I appreciate your videos and the simplicity of the explanations.
  • @lemonylimeboi
I was honestly really confused and somewhat scared because I have different sized pupils, but it's only slightly and they don't differ when it comes to light exposure. So it's really good to hear that it's normal in my situation, so thank you for including that in this video!
  • Regarding anisocoria. I believe this can be vagus nerve related. I used to come in out of the sun to relative darkness and one pupil would dilate much more than the other. I noticed this and it went on for several years. On the less reactive side I also had a flat affect, darker circle under the eye and lowered palate/ uvula (cf the test in Stanley Rosenberg’s excellent book, Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve). Since doing a lot of vagus nerve techniques, the anisocoria and other symptoms have gone away (the circle under the eye is still slightly darker, I’m in my 50s so it may not completely go away). For anyone interested, I highly recommend the book mentioned above!

My son has asymmetry of his pupils. It was diagnosed when he was an infant. Very informative video.
  • @mariomenezes1153
Excellent video as ever! Very informative. Was actually looking to see if you would outline any possible small blood vessel damage, or something else, caused by diabetes. This was a great video though. Thank you!
  • @ananajera9739
Thanks for sharing. Ironic how my allergies are at their worst and you break down a video explaining your health and the eye link between them. Looks like #1 dry eyes and #5 pinguecula are something I live with! Time to order some sunglasses to slow down my damage.
  • They're all pretty cool as long as you're not experiencing them. Just knowing all the details is fascinating.
  • @lucky-pz3pn
