青舞狮 “Green Lion Dance” Demonstration

青舞狮 “Green Lion Dance” or also known as the “Green Flat Faced Lion Dance”. Green Lion 青狮 is a lion dance 舞狮 art form in Fujian province 福建 believed to have its origins in the anti Manchu movements 反清复明 after the fall of the Ming dynasty in 1644. It is similar to the typical lion dance except that it is mainly green in color and with distinct round flat mask.

    Yes, this is usually Hokkien performed..But, it is found/used by many different areas as stated in the video. :)
