Smart rings seem like the best health tracking option for those who don't want endless notifications pinging their wrists. They have long battery life, a slick design, and are less intrusive, but can they be as accurate? Sarah is here to check out the Evie Ring, which was created with a focus on women's health. But can Evie stand up to longstanding competitors like the Oura Ring?

Sometimes you just have to suck it up and tell people the truth: "This thing is non-functioning e-waste, and considering the price, possibly a scam. "
  • @nintendork07
99% of the time tech companies talk about a feature for women, it's about tracking menstrual cycles lol
  • @CameronRides
So basically the ring is a scam… horrible customer service, turning off comments, doesnt connect to health apps, scuffs like crazy, app is not available outside the US AND $269. Absolute garbage and more e waste.

Fun fact about "Water Resistance": They assume you're in COLD water, so if you're in a situation with warm/hot water (washing dishes, showers, hot-tubs, etc.) then that water resistance is going to fail faster and more reliably.

I appreciate the section talking about customer support and them turning off their Instagram comments. Feels like a nice bit of extra info we don't normally get.
  • @GuitarSlayer136
"USB-C has become the universal cable for most things" As fortold by the almighty acronym.
  • @zuvasq
I like how she feels bad about saying the ring isn't good so she tries to say it in a nice way, but still stands by the fact she would not recommend it.
  • @CAyou
If you don't mind the smart part of a smart watch you could get a Garmin that will give you plenty of health and fitness tracking with big battery life.
  • @hammerth1421
Why exactly did they deposit titanium on zirconium again? Because it sells well to throw those words around? I mean, both are cool metals, but they seem rather unnecessary for a smart ring.
  • @Jahus
I charge my Garmin once every 11 days. Edit: This is not a complaint. I walk a lot and use the GPS feature. The screen is always on (liquid crystal). The battery life has been great so far (1 year use).
  • eu passed a bill that basically says "if it can be charged with usb-c, it has to be charged with usb-c" that's why apple iphones got usable cables
  • @T13Nemo
Oura was a lot better when they didn't ask for a subscription to show basic features. Now I'm using Garmin Fenix and I LOVE them. 10 days of battery life, no subscription - batteries included, and so many features for people who bike, hike, ski, etc.

I wasn't ready for glasses Sarah

Wait, the app asks you "how you Identify". I'm open on what people want to be, or feel. But on a health based situation like this, shouldn't this be the Biological Gender, due to body differences? I mean if you select, you want to select your cycles, and then pick "Male", isn't that like counterin that question? And your Body-Metabolism is completely different if you are Male/Female. And yes, probably after you went through transistion, whatsoever, then things are bit different, but You are still biologically one of those two options.
  • @Alexandra-Rex
Use a jewelry scale thingy that comes with a weight for calibrating it. Much more accurate for light objects.
  • @WalterRiggs
Only for US residents… tracks menstrual cycles. I wonder what agency they’re reporting to…
