We've updated our popular Ribcage C-Mount mod kit for the Yi 4K Action Camera to include compatibility for the new 4K+. Supporting 4K/60, image stabilization and shutter speed control, this is a major update for an already powerful and well priced camera. Our modification allows you to connect M12 & C-Mount lenses, as well as Entaniya ultra-wide fisheye lenses. Available as a DIY mod kit or a fully modified camera.

Lenses used:

WoW 4K/60 at a narrow field of view!!! This is a dream come true on this amazing camera. It looks too good to be true actually!!
  • This is a great news ! With a 4k+ modified with that and some good lenses, we can make some great cinematic videos.

Awesome video! I've been looking into getting a Yi 4k+, but am kind of afraid the factory lens wouldn't be good for the purpose I need it for (Which is unboxing trading cards, which I make videos of as a hobby) but this might be great. If I get this mod, can you suggest a lens that would fit it that would be good for shooting something like a trading card up close without it being distorted like a fish eye lens would?

Would you consider making a case to attach accessories such as gimbals and microphones. Would you recommend any lenses to vlog with that are on the website?

For all the zoom-outs at 1:15 and afterward, I'm not sure I understand how you were able to get a zoom out while keeping the subjects in proper focus on this type of a manual lens... Every other video has a guy fiddling with zoom first and then messing around with focus afterward for this type of lens

My wife just bought me a brand new YI 4k Action Camera for Christmas, and only after she saw how interested I have been in making photography a hobby of mine. I am very interested in buying the "BackBone Ribcage Mod. Kit" for the Xiaomi Yi4K Camera. I am new to all of this, and was wondering where I can find a list of suitable C and M12 mounted, especially manual focused, lenses. Can you please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hi I have a question, I'm still new to the camera world(I'm very beginner). I heard that the quality of camera is determined by 3 things, sensor size, pixel size(micron) and aperture. And most of action camera sensor size is 1/2.3", that's equal with most of compact camera sensor size. But because the focus of action camera was fixed, it can't do the bokeh effect. My question is, does change the lens also change the sensor size? or the sensor size is still the same? I don't know whether the sensor size is attached to the lens or attached to the gear/machine. If it's attached to the gear, it means it will be the same(and it's the other way around.) Thanks you so much!

Could download this video in original quality from someplace? I downloaded some videos from vimeo, however they only have 22Mbps, I would like to know how much sharp it is Ribcage YI 4K + whit C-mount. Also I would like to ask, I'm looking to get maximum sharpness. Could I get it with my sldr lens (FullFrame)? or C-mount lens like 'Compute 1/2 "8-48mm' could get more sharpness?Of course it will depend for the quality of sldr lenses but sldr lenses aren't designed to work with such small pixels... I think it could produce a sharpnes loss maybe? Could have problem with that? In your experience with Sldr and C-mount lenses with which get more sharpness? Thanks.

Did somebody used the external microphone with Yi 4K+ already? What microphone would work the best?

I take it that 4k hardware cross references with the 4k+, was on you site and seen nothing that was 4k+.

Can I use it on Gopro hero 12? I can take photos and videos with manual zoom. Do I have to use the camera's zoom with this lens?
