Teach Your Children - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

-------------

We might be biased but this Duo Session is the one that’s most precious to us. It has been 15 years since we last performed music together with our Dad like that. We do jam in the studio from time to time, and obviously we work in the studio together all the time but this was something different.

We used to play this song as just the two of us many, many years ago when we were teenagers, but we don’t think we ever grasped its full meaning until many years later. It’s one of those songs that hits different once you grow up!

A poignant masterpiece by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and to be able to do the 3-part harmonies together with Dad means a lot to us.

We couldn’t wish for a better father and if there’s one thing he has done for us it’s to instil the bravery to dream and to go for it. To say he’s been supportive is an understatement.

We love you Dad, thanks for doing this song with us!

  • What a beautiful sound to wake up to on Father's Day. Thank you Papa and ladies.
  • It’s great when father’s are there to support their children both when young and grown. I lost my father at the age of 29, but his time to die had come, so I accepted it. He had a mission to help us from the other side, and that he did, when I was sick, and away from my mother, and the rest of the family.

This is a song that crosses all generations what a great song! I grew up in the late 60’s and early 70’s and my dad was mainly into country and really disliked my music. I remember him saying the Beatles, in 5 years they will no longer be remembered, well today they are as important to our music history as Mozart or. Beethoven. But when it came to my music he liked this was at the top of the list! Great job y’all. Love your channel!

Rudi Can’t Fail. This is a fine Father’s Day Sunday morning.
  • Happy Father's Day to Papa Rudi! I loved this the first time I heard this Duo Sessions plus 1. Laddies and Gentlemen! ....this is the result of giving children the time and freedom to learn...to create...to give us joy! My first Crosby, Stills, and Nash album I bought was DeJeVu( spl) .The while stationed in Frankfurt West Germany in 1979 to 1982 I bought a beautiful best of album. Of course all vinyl. CD was just coming out and expensive. I first rented a furnished apartment in Bad Vieble for over 1000 marks per month. Large in German standards. My daughter was born the next year. I found out I could rent an upright piano for 50 marks per month paying through the German Post. At 21 I thought it was cool. I would sit down at the piano and play to my Crosby, Stills, and Nash. I had to minor in piano in college, but like Roy Clarke, I found reading music on Piano slowed me down. Lol plus, I was a frustrated singer. No talent like Marvin Hamish, but he wrote beautiful pieces. This is what I thought of hearing this. I'm still waiting to hear Papa Rudy feature his Hammond C3. Maybe a little Jethro Tull? Lol Loved it. Sorry, Oldman Rant! Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. Stay Groovy! 🍻🌹❤️🤘
