Consequences to being a truth speaker in his times... 1. To be made to look crazy (courrupting authentic truth) 2. To be drugged (silenced) 3. To be criminalised (isolated) 4. To disappear. (Removed). I've been waiting for people to validate this man. They made him seem insane. Meanwhile, people behind the scenes have been dying for independent control of their own identities.

The point he is trying to make is that he himself doesnt matter to others -- he gets told what events he needs to be at, what to wear, what to think, what to say, etc. Being treated as an 'icon' diminishes your sense of self.

Presenting himself as (I hate this term) 'crazy' is likely what keeps these people safe. They speak the truth/semi-truth and because it's presented in a shocking or outlandish way, only a certain number of people believe it and the majority write them off as mentally ill or on drugs.

I think he meant “Jim Carrey” is just another role he plays. The person he is in front of the cameras, doing interviews, the way he’s been dressed.. it’s not him. He wears what his stylist tells him to, he speaks about what his publicist tells him to. He simply is portraying another character, he is not himself
