South African human rights activist Salim Vally speaks to Jonathan Ramnac in the latest episode of the Green Left Show.

Vally is South Africa’s National Research Foundation’s Chair in Community, Worker and Adult Education, based at the University of Johannesburg and was a recent guest at the #Ecosocialism2024 conference.

We acknowledge that this video was produced on stolen Aboriginal land. We express solidarity with ongoing struggles for justice for First Nations people and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

    Your problem starts with the fact that 850,000 Arabic Jews forced to leave Arab states post 1948 became Israeli while the Muslim Arab leaders who forced out the Jews , refused to grant citizenship to Arabs who had to leave Israel. Thats the starting point.

    You do realise thats its a universally accepted fact that Israel ( including West Bank & Gaza) only accounts for 0.02% of land in Middle East while the Muslim Arab League states possess the other 99.98% of land in Middle East.

    So Jews/israelites are the only people in the world who don’t get to have indigenous right? I will remind you that the reason everyone in the Middle East speaks Arabic and practice Islam is the same reason everyone in North, central and South America speaks English/spanish and practice Christianity-A religion btw that was founded by Jews in the province of judea 2000 years ago.
