Why Destiny Strike Specific Loot Was SO AWESOME?!

Just saying, now that sunsetting got sunset they should definitely add strike specific loot back. I miss my devouring maw helmet

Bringing back the S.A.B.E.R strike in d2 could have been 100 times better if the devouring maw helmet came back too.

Specific loot for strikes concept Arms dealer: a modified fusion rifle called “flame cannon”, and a shaded called bracus chartreuse Lake of shadows: a rusty sword called “militia’s last stand” (landing constant hits will increase the damage and reduce the chance of consuming ammo) and a black, white and blue shader called “water pollution” Exodus crash: leg armor inspired from the boss for the hunters called “arc runners” ( makes you move faster on arc nets) an arc autorifle called “zhalo cell” (perk: persistence and every 5th shot deals double damage)and an exotic ornament for skull fort that makes it look to be once a captain helm Inverted spire: an exotic ornament for hardlight to make it look like a vex gun, a legendary fusion rifle called “the Tri-Chromia” (unique perk that causes the gun to randomly fire solar, arc and void charges at different patterns) titan gauntlets from the boss that gives benefits based on what element you are using and 3 separate shaders that glow solar, arc and void with silver highlights Strange terrain: a piece of armor for each class; nockris’s robes for the warlock, nockris’s mark for titans, nockris’s cape for hunters(no hood). All armor pieces gain a perk that increases effectiveness against hive, an ornament for jotan to make it hive themed and a pulse rifle called “rightfully mine” (perk entitlement : critical hits do more damage and the gun fires faster if you repeatedly land critical hits) Will of the thousands: an exotic ornament for 1000 voices (looks like xols mouth) a cape of xols flesh for hunters and and a fusion rifle called “thousand chances” with a perk called mulling it around (mulligan with the power of blanks) Insight terminus: helmet of the boss for the warlocks and the mark of the boss for hunters and a legendary shotgun called msund12’s inspection (charges grenades and enables grenades a 15% shield penetration) Warden of nothing: an ornament for Cerberus +1 (makes the gun looks like a prison guard gun and glows with fire) an exotic ghost called wardens watch and cobbled together fusion rifle called “prison riot” (it has a barrel of a fallen rifle, the receiver of a cabal gun, grips are made of hive clothes and an energy core of a vex heart) Broodhold: lord of wolves ornament that makes it look like a fallen hive prototype, warlock gauntlet that look to be hive made (void on one side, solar on the other) and a machine gun called “a deal is strucked” (weakens fallen and blinds hive) Hallowed lair: fanatics end (helmet for titans), trickster cape for hunters, pirrha hunt cape for hunters, mad bombers vestments for titans, yaviks last ride gauntlets for warlocks, hangman’s hull legs for warlocks and a shader called corrupted either. And a scorn auto rifle called Eternal hatred (fire rate and resistance increases the closer you are to enemies) The corrupted: a half corrupted hand cannon called “sedia’s peace”, techion inspired warlock robes and an exotic ornament for Astrocyte verse (instead of a purple hue it’s a taken blight) The scarlet keep: hive themed gauntlets for titans, hashladûn’s blade (a unique sword that enables an over shield at the cost of 25 ammo, it also has a cool down of 2 minutes) and a shader called scarlet reckoning Festering core: divinity ornament called “first move” (partially takenizes it) and a rocket launcher that seams to be both vex and taken (perk is called king me: killing majors increases the mag size and damage) The Glassway: a exotic ornament for xeno phage called “here and now” that causes the gun to become partially vexified, a legendary pulse rifle called Clovis’s Clue (kills on any vex enemy will spawn a vex puddle thst damages other vex enemies) and 3 sets of vexified armor (vex hands for warlocks, a hunter arm and Titans leg) The Disgraced: an exotic ornament for Gravitons lance called “Novato Last Chance” (glows green with hive energy with hive plates along the top of the gun) legendary grenade launcher called False Rewards (lower health increases the damage and explodes like a cursed thrall) a pair of boots for hunters and warlocks Sepiks Prime: hunter cloak of a fallen devil, a titans chest piece made out of the boss itself called “Sepiks Gaze” and warlocks get a bond called “Grimore of the fallen”. A legendary sidearm called “Vandals Word” and an auto rifle called “old memories” (Khvostov 2.0)

Strike specific loot was a like a carrot on a string for us. Always leading us on for more loot.

Destiny 1 year 3’s system was the best w the skeleton keys

the best part of d1 strike loot compared to d2 strike loot is that in d1 the loot was actually themed after the strike and were completely unique looking and could easily be recognized to which strike it came from. Plus best strike armor piece to me was the vex warlock gauntlets you could get from the echo chamber strike.

They should add skeleton keys again alongside heroic strikes where you can only spend them.

Ah, I miss my psion cape from D1.

i honestly think they're eventually going to go back to this sort of thing. they're already slowly transitioning towards it, and people have been constantly demanding more ways to target the loot we get, so, I think we'll eventually get something in the ballpark of strike specific loot again

I remember how exciting getting a legendary in D1 was we need that back

Just saying, I personally love the Omnigul bond for my Warlock. It fit especially well with the new ornaments for the updated VoG and Crota raid loot. I also love the ability to really show off that you play the higher end activities as well as got lucky on strikes. I really want Strike-spesific loot back like it was in D1, because that made me really want to grind strikes and get my rolls, without having to build a raid team etc.

My favorite strike loot has always been the alak hul helmet
