"There was a cute Russian girl" - every guy who learned Russian
  • Congrats to all who understand the signs of the times and have learned or are learning Russian. When you're done, tackle Chinese, you'll never regret it.
  • Russian is a language that, when you see its writing system, it can be intimidating, but once you hear a conversation or a story in it, whether on YouTube or anywhere else, and you listen to its sound, it becomes a contagious language. It's a language that captivates you, that once you try it, you become addicted to it because it envelops you and enchants you. In other words, you become completely infatuated with the language. Personally, I liked Russian and after hearing it several times, its fun and sexy voice made me fall in love with it, to the point that I started studying several languages including Chinese, Portuguese, English, French, Italian, and German. But out of all those seven languages, Russian is the one that has fascinated me the most. I'm attached to it and can't separate myself from it.

I got this huge grin on my face when he mentioned his girlfriend… I’m here thinking about learning Russian because of my half-Russian girlfriend. It’s as good a reason as any!

  • Hi man, this is an awesome story. I have just started learning Russian after having been interested in the culture for a few years. Im listening to podcasts, netflix, and youtube at the moment- and putting key words and phrases into flashcards. Awesome to hear from someone who took a similar approach, hopefully I can reach your level one day😄

I got interested in Russian when I was in high school, a cute Russian girl who could speak English and Spanish. We dated for 6 months, we broke up but my interest for the language and the Russian culture remained. ❤

Loved the story Ari! Reminds me of the interview we did together. You are one of the few people I can look to to draw inspiration from with learning Russian. PS: I saw you on Steve's channel, super cool! The guy is my hero! haha

I am not agree that being a polyglot with little basis (B1) instead of having just one language with a very high level (C1) suck Depending on your strategy I remember spending lot of time learning german, which is a hard language, but on the other hand learning spanish, portugues, italian, etc... I also started russian 2 years ago. It was a great decision to start other languages on the side. Because you see yourself improving everyday instead of dying on one "super hard language". Right now, it's true that it took me more time to master any of them (I am still in the learning process) but I am more happy to say that I speak French (native), english (C1), german (B2), spanish (C1), portugues (B1), russian (B1), italian (B1) which is 7 languages Than just French, english and german on a high level (C1) which is only 3

That's a nice story Ari! God guided you all along! I loved how you met your girlfriend, and was hoping that you two were still together. So I was really happy when you said that noise was her hair dryer and you're together :) May God bless you always!

thank you so much for your tips, i speak russian terribly but my situation is kind of different from most people I believe because I am a circassian who wants to repatriate to his own country, which is in russian federation. So in order to accomplish this dream of mine i MUST speak Russian language, it is just mandatory. I don't know how long it will take me because I also doubt my own language geeky skills a lot but your channel helps out big time. Very much appreciated)
