I cannot express how grateful I am that I could play a part in the making of this masterpiece. The fact that a story told as much as Artorias' still draws a lot of attention says a lot, not only about the quality of Vaati's videos but the Dark Souls title in itself. First play through, "oh cool a dog boss with a sword!" Literally every playthrough after, "I'm so sorry Sif..."

A piece of Artorias’ cut dialogue is when you kill him he says “Ah, Sif. There you are.” My fucking heart dude.

When Sif stops stepping on you and whines is the most tear wrenching moment in all of dark souls

I love how Artorias failed to defeat the Abyss because he had never faced that part of himself. His very lack of darkness was his undoing. It makes me think of a fearless warrior who is forced, for the first time in their life, to experience true fear. Without the experience and understanding of how to overcome it, it destroys even the mightiest hero!
