Can I use the Crayola Marker Maker to make professional Alcohol Markers? Should this exist for professionals to make ACTUAL pro markers? Should I make it? Let me know in the comments!...

Very entertaining! I was imagining little kids going “Mum, did you get the crayola marker set I asked for”. “Sorry, KMart was all out for some reason.”

I love how Jazza has reached the evolution where he can go “why doesn’t this exist? …Should I make this exist? Yes.” 😂😂😂 I am here for it.

I actually went to an arts shop the other month here in Germany, and they had empty Copic marker tubes for you to mix your own colors with! It was confusing at first, but then I was excited!

I use this kit for the physics of vision. The pigments are called subtractive color (like absorbing wavelengths of light). Kids always get so confused because they are taught that the primary colors are red, yellow and blue and then I show them magenta, cyan and yellow. Minds blown.
  • As soon as you suggested a version of this for professionals, I was like "He's gonna make this, isn't he?" Then you legit asked. Yes. Yes we would love to see you make a professional grade marker mixer.
  • We need a whole series of "jazza makes his own mediums". This was an absolute joy to watch.

I remember seeing empty copics, that are actually meant to be used for this purpose - they have a blank colour indicator on the cap, and no ink, and you just fill them with whatever ink you want... I think I have seen them for both sketch and wide versions too...can't remember where though

Jazza: doesn’t research or read instructions first for how to use expensive and artist quality equipment. Also Jazza: I need to read the instructions first in order to understand how to use the kids toy Yep, the math checks out

I would love to see a higher quality/adult version of this. Would be awesome if it included a choice of tips (brush or bullet would be my go-tos), and have the ability to lighten or darken the colour. Love your content, attitude and willingness to step outside the box.

Interesting that your first kit is actually CMY and then the others had red. That not only ruins the recipes, using red as a base instead of magenta caps off a lot possible colours! I really don't get how in certain places RYB got taught as primary colours, especially for painting, here we learnt CMY and i really think it gives kids a better base to understanding colour. (I know this is a hot topic, but i always use the printer example. Printers can produce actual life accurate photos, printers have CYM+B and white from the paper. Because those are the true primaries that you can use to make any colour)

I remember seeing a similar kit in my local art supply store many years ago. Except with that kit, you filled the markers with food coloring dyes, and used them to decorate iced cookies.

😮The most shocking thing in this video... Jazza STARTED OFF with reading the instructions!

  • Yes. Please make the thing! I would love to be able to experiment with making my own colors with different tips maybe? Like some brush tips and bullet nibs? And the ability to buy the marker casings and ink separate from the actual maker thing so I'm not limited in how many I could make...
  • @kingdanett4043
Actually a professional marker system would be amazing!! Especially if your able to have a brush tip!!
  • "Should I make a professional artist's marker mixer?" As an artist who enjoys using good quality stuff and likes fun experimental things? I wish to register a resounding YES. DO THE THING PLEASE
  • @Oonagh72
Jackie at NerdeCrafter made her own copic markers with this kit. I can’t remember what ink she used, but not wasn’t this expensive. Edit: I just watched the video: she added alcohol to the crayola color. Watch her video.

now i know what my 7 year old son who’s obsessed with art now too and i are doing this weekend 🥰

I had Prismacolor and Chartpac refills and inks years ago, like 30 years ago. At least that's my vague recollection. I still have some of their regular markers and they still work perfectly. I used to get them in an art supply store in NYC by FIT. This was so much fun to watch!! You're a great artist!!
