Alternate Title: 1000 Ways to Call Jamie Moyer Old
  • @agony3254
It is the year 2124. Jamie Moyer is on his 12th comeback tour since retiring at age 99. His pitches have become so slow they actually go back in time, hitting the catcher's mitt before the ball leaves his hand. He isn't just the starting pitcher for an MLB team, he's the starting pitcher for EVERY MLB team. No one has scored a run in 3 years.

Bro, you did not need to destroy this man by explaining how old he was lmfao. "HE IS OLDER, THAN THE DIRT YOU WALK ON!" "HE IS OLDER, THAN MOVIE THEATER POPCORN!" "HE IS SO OLD, HE SAT NEXT TO JESUS IN THE 2nd GRAD!" Okay man, let the man pitch :/
  • @Gozokukolat
My favorite Jamie Moyer commercial was during his Seattle days. Jamie's throwing in spring training and the radar gun is showing 97-99. One of the guys asks, 'Is that in miles?' and Wilson (Seattle's main catcher at the time) said, 'No, it's in kilometers. Jaime got it in France and seems to like it.' Still funny to this day if you ever watch Jamie pitch.

So this guy threw slow his entire career, extending the longevity of his time playing professional baseball. Sounds like a genius to me
  • Just add more context about the 5 U.S. presidents during Moyer's career, 3 of which served 2 terms and 1 was in his second term when he debuted.
  • @jabman025
this is the definition of wily veteran, he has forgotten more about pitching than most mlb pitchers know today, and he can read hitters, because he has seen them all
  • @rjlesch
Moyer was the last active MLB player older than me, so I wanted to see him pitch forever. Amazing story.

Bro has beef with Jamie Moyer 💀
  • This just shows how important location is, I throw around 77 and can barely beat a little league team.
  • Jamie Moyer has just shy of 50 WAR. Considering his one-of-a-kind longevity, he should probably be in Hall of Fame conversations - even though he fell off the ballot in 2018 and also probably shouldn't be there.
  • Moyer played for my Seattle Mariners for years and was beloved in the city and was one of the most underappreciated pitchers in MLB history
  • Jamie Moyer should be a hall of famer simply for longevity and counting stats. Dude has records that will never be broken in modern ball.
  • @fanatic26
Jamie Moyer is a Hall of Famer in my book. The man had NO MLB tools in his kit and played 25 seasons with the best of the best.
  • @magnoliamike
He didn’t need to throw hard. He probably didn’t want to because he seen everyone was getting Tommy John surgery. His strategy obviously worked out with the longevity. What he makes up for speed he has in the finesse department
  • @kythian
Jamie Moyer is a LEGEND. He was a key piece of the 116-win, 2001 Seattle Mariners, and won a World Series with the Phillies a decade later. L E G E N D !
  • Jaimie Moyer went to my high school. Souderton Area High School. There’s a big picture of him in the athletic wing
  • Moyer might be the strongest example I've ever seen of using psychology in baseball. Can't pitch super fast? Pitch in ways that will make the batter anxious and unsure what to swing at so they keep getting themselves out.
  • @sea4our
Mariners Legend Jamie Moyer. love this. got to watch him for a majority of his career here in Seattle. dude is a shining example of having great "stuff" and not needing to overpower his opponents. Maddux did it later in his career, as well (but obviously had better velocity). i never thought i'd see the day where Jamie retires. he must've had an incredible recovery regimen and definitely knew his bodies limits. i don't think i ever saw him feature anything that was overtly taxing on the arm throughout his entire career lol. my man's career spanned longer than i've even been alive (i was born 1987). i have nothing but respect for a guy like this, who can break the mold of a prototypical player. you love to see it.

You know what I haven’t seen enough content on. Julio Franco. That dude hit in the MLB till he was like 50!
