BEST Midsize Pickup Truck? 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor!

Published 2024-05-04
Is this 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor the best midsized pickup truck you can buy right now? Would you take this for $60K over the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro for $65K? Tough call.

In this review I provide a highlight of the interior and exterior features and provide an exhaust clip. Since when do midsize pickups cost this much? Remember when this used to be full-size truck territory? You could snag a heavy duty diesel for $60K just a few years ago.

If you enjoyed this video of this all-new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, please consider Liking and Subscribing. Your support means a lot... and I certainly appreciate it! Thank you.

Gotta admit. This truck is more impressive than what Toyota has to offer… I just got a Mazda CX 50, likely my last new car ever, God willing my pay keeps up in the next ten years with rising prices… I’ll get a few used cheaper cars like a Camry and a 4th gen 4Runner for those possible apocalyptic days with high gas prices or need to go to the wilderness while cities go down in dust lol
  • I like it. Ford knew in something as substantial as a Raptor we would want a V6 and they delivered. Good job Ford.

Like the headlights, but no go on the wheels and graphics. I’m a Toyota guy, but my next truck will be a Ranger Raptor. Ty for sharing.

5K less than the Tacoma TRD Pro. Will take that all day long. I could be wrong but the Tacoma resale edge is not going to be anywhere near what it was.
  • Life long toyota nut here. This blows the TRD pro out of the water.. Just Ordered the Raptor

Ordered mine with keypad, spray in liner & engine block heater….$57,845. No dealer mark up, but probably a $150 doc fee and Oregon licensing ($136) which is a “vehicle use tax” of 0.5 percent. $58,420

Not over styled like the Tacoma, has useable back seats , no iPad above the dash and no hybrid crap. $5000 cheaper then the Pro. Long time Toyota buyer here but I would take this Raptor all day over a Pro or TH Tacoma

I think you get more with the Raptor vs TRD Pro. The suspension is live valve so it’s electronically adjustable as well. Plus a 10spd and you know a tune will be out soon with quite an increase in power if you consider what Explorer ST’s are doing.

Mine is suppose to be here in June if you wanna drive and review it. I’m local. 😀

Traded my 2020 Tundra Trd Pro 9 days ago for a 2024 Ranger Raptor. I love the truck so far. Its very quick and fun to drive.
  • @marklihsu
Yup better than TRD anything. Class leader.

Ford did good with the Ranger Raptoor. Priced reasonable well for what it is. Best bang for the buck for midsize offroad turn key truck is ZR2. Except the Multimatic shocks…meh, but… the TRD Pro from the media videos releases with price and cab space limitations. Also manual switch for shock dampening is backwards compared to the Raptor and ZR2 can change valving settings on the fly with a turn of a knob in the cab.

Gotta say, Toyota should be worried
  • great video. i have that exact truck and color minus the graphics and add a spray in liner. mine was 58k. i come from full size Fords but i have to say this is a blast to drive. a lot of power and loaded for comfort. definitely easier to park, no field needed to turn around like a full size truck lol
  • Well, unless your going to purchase it then liking the headlights would be a concern but I love the entire redesign and I’ve been waiting for two years plus for it’s release in the states so that’s why I purchased mine.

Picked up ours 3 weeks ago. Got it with literally everything in it. (Shelter Green).. Cost with tax, title, lisc, dest fee, etc. & $3500 markup. $81,000. I know it’s a lot but it is absolutely Spectacular.

@Untamed Reviews: The Ranger Raptor starting at $57.5k or so offers a much better value than a Tacoma TRD Pro at $65k. Back seat is useless in Tacoma for 2024. The real competition is GMC Canyon AT4X and Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. I love the Ranger Raptor.
  • Hey untamed, beautiful truck! I went to try and test drive one in a local ford dealer here on Long Island and , his comment to me was the only way I could test drive it was we would agree on price and everything else on it in price and then run a credit check on me, I thought that was so wrong ! Here said they have a small allocation on them and we can’t just let people take a test drive, that’s bullshit and spending 60,000 on a mid size truck , I’m hoping in a few months the allocation is more on them .

I'm not saying that because you think I'm a fan boy because I own a Ranger Raptor that's not true When deciding last year between the three TRD Pro, TRD Trail Hunter, and Ranger Raptor I honestly was leaning towards the Trail Hunter I think because of the reliability of the 3 ltr twin turbo in the Ford was the reason I chose the Ford The engines in the Toyota are blowing up and I keep up with all the what's happnings in the truck and auto world I'm a truck guy I love all makes and models GM is bringing back the cyclone as a single cab mid size truck with over 550 HP and I'll probably order one of them too I know trucks and I know what will hold its value over other trucks Toyotas are blowing up do the research

Nice truck. My biggest concern is having the locker go through the screen. Chevy has the headlight in the screen. That just a bad idea all around….
