A caller debates whether or not to continue financially supporting her boyfriend and also whether or not to let her mom back into her life after she tried to poison her.

Later I talk to a chef about an illegal restaurant he’s running and a final caller struggles to navigate his newly formed polyamorous relationship.

Paint the walls of your house green. I am a gecko.

  • i've listened to a lot of these episodes and it always saddens me greatly whenever someone who has clearly experienced massive compound trauma sounds so detached from the horrific things they've experienced, like lily chuckling casually after saying that her own mother tried to kill her and her boyfriend with antifreeze. i can't even fathom the level of psychotic malevolence that would lead someone to try and kill their own daughter for seemingly no reason and i just genuinely hope that lily gets the help she needs

I really hope Lilly figures things out and surrounds herself around people who genuinely care and aren’t there to take advantage of her.
  • Bro antifreeze tea is crazy. Fuck no contact, that woman needs jail time!

That part about lyle sleeping in that guys bed was funny as fuck😂
  • Man. All the guy's gotta do is to take care of the house stuff and they are golden. I would love to be a housedude.

Call Me By Your Name thing: It's poetic. I read it as something like saying "I see myself in you. You are part of me, and I am part of you."

I’ve watched Call Me by Your Name and read the book, and my interpretation of calling your beloved by your own name is that through the depth of your love for each other, the distance between you and them is entirely eliminated, and the two of you have become one. You are as close as one can possibly get to you, and they have become just as close. They are you. The theme of “becoming one through love” is pretty prevalent is the book and the movie. I’d say there’s also an aspect of loving yourself through loving your beloved that’s in this: you look at someone you love and feel it in your entire body that you love them, and this love for the other is also self love for how wonderful it makes you and makes you feel. Anyway, Call Me by Your Name is all right lmao.

There’s character building and then there’s trauma from people who need to be held accountable
  • Hey lyle, Crabman here again. I haven't made the podcast, so that's I promise I won't be keeping. But I started taking software engineering in a program with excellent job search help. I quit working at Walmart, too. That was a great feeling. I didn't make the podcast, but your podcast was a big help during a very very rough time. So I figured I'd leave a comment thanking you for that, and to say I'm doing much better since the last time we talked. Geck bless.

the geck went from a clean shave to full on beard by the second caller
  • How exactly does a murder attempt get laughed off and let go? That girls mother tried to kill her and her boyfriend..
  • @karkorof
Please invite Caleb Hammer onto the show! That would be great!!
  • @Liz-ru2io
Lily if you’re reading this, just imagine a friend in your position. As in their mom had tried to poison them and their boyfriend is trying to live off of them. Would you say that’s okay? or would you encourage them to find a way out of that situation? or if you had a daughter, would you ever poison her? would it be okay if she had a boyfriend that profited off of her? I think you know the answers deep down. please try to talk to someone like a therapist who’s outside your bubble, who can give you their perspective and help you move forward. I hope you can find a way out of this 🤍
  • @simonesayyys
That guy is definitely getting a new toothbrush after geck uses it
  • @larzpric377
im excited for geck to try this new shady resturant
  • @joekerUli
I feel like lily ommitted a lot about herself, and probably didn’t realize her mom probably already had a lot of issues for years which lead to her dad leaving, and, without him, her mom couldn’t hide the issues anymore. She’s lying about a lot.
