Who will win? On a windy and rainy Goodwood Motor Racing circuit I took on Road Bike Team Time Trial teams by myself, solo over 18miles/30km. I struggled to keep my bike rubber side down whilst the teams struggled to stay together such were the conditions.

Best cycling content on Youtube. You make all these events seem more accessible by showing how friendly and relaxed they are, which perhaps is testament to your character. You've also struck the right balance of casual viewing and nerd content.

So great that you can share these experiences with your dad. I love your work
  • @Shelleysnail
It was interesting to watch you vs the 4 road bikes. Glad you enjoyed it much more than your last escapade.
  • Great effort by the way good of you to turn up and participate! You can be on our team next year!
  • @Lou-Lou.
So cool to see my local track, raced here last night, sorry I missed you we couldn't put a team together in the end 😢

We have a series of circuit races in Norfolk at the Lotus Hethel test track. It’s great as a way in to road racing, I’ve just done my first two and it’s been fun and just the right level of challenge.

Unfortunately the numbers of entrants aren’t what they used to be and it’s only just keeping afloat from what I’ve heard. Need to get the word out and encourage more people to try

That TT bike sounds like a missile 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Love the road bike national championship quip. George was doing a TT bike fit with me the day after

Mallory Park in Leicestershire has been used for bike racing for years, and since they built a village up around it (who's residents complain about the noise of the track) the track is used much less frequently for cars, and has a lot of bike slots. I think it's a great track for cycling on, could even have a gravel race with the rallycross bits.
  • Great video. Your so relevant Alex. You make great content.👏👏

There's good racing to be had round the Lotus test track near Norwich - plenty of safe space, lots of wind and it's freezing year round!
  • The Drift Limits circuit in Bovingdon has weekly races during the summer. It's smaller that a full motor racing circuit but that actually makes it a bit technical too.
  • @terreyhills
Using Goodwood for cycling is a great idea. Due to the proximity of housing with Chichester constantly expanding they have significant noise limitations - which limits the number of motorsport events they can run. Cycling wouldn't pose those sorts of issues for them (you would be a hell of a lot quieter than the aircraft taking off fro the centre airfield). A win win for Lord March and the Goodwood estate and for cycling...

I'm amazed at how greasy race circuits seem to be, I did a Duathlon at a damp Castle Combe and had a drifty moment at Quarry ( effectively the first corner) that definitely grabbed my attention 😱, it's possible a new set of un-scrubbed Specialised tyres might have contributed, but even so...
Oh yes they also have a series of 10 mile TT throughout the summer there as well as Goodwood, let's face it and evening bike event on any race circuit isn't going to lose the circuit any money in wear and tear, and noise is definitely not going to be an issue 😂. Win win I say.
  • Great content, I did the event and it was great fun, even got to say hi!

Remco I suspect has a great cda, tie that in with coming back from injury where you tend to lose a bit of top end as well as miles in the legs/endurance, it is unsurprising that it is those peak efforts on tougher stages that tell vs a more steady state effort. Hopefully he will get that last 5 or so peak abilty % back before the tdf. As we saw with Pog however good you are if you have disrupted training being consistent I delivery of their peak performance efforts day after day is tough.
  • @Alan_Hans__
    Awesome looking weather.
Look forward to when Pikes Peak is shared with road cyclists :D
  • I love how you keep recording top results...when you don't use a power meter. 😁 I would guess you've been doing this long enough that you know what your body is going to let you do on any given day, and you can just ride free. Also you're probably not holding back a little like the teams who are almost certainly worried about overlap and slipping in a corner in these conditions.
