4 player split screen is one of the best things about this game!

This game is honestly fantastic. The team based racing is a lot of fun and a great twist on the old kart racing formula. TSR also runs amazingly well on PC. Even a laptop can run it at 60fps. (Mario Kart and Crash TR are not on PC)

This is giving me the first all stars racing vibes and I’m here for it. Can’t wait to have a nostalgic evening and play this wonderful game with my dad.

The review mentioned a small roster, and I think that should be a key focus for an update or new edition. If they're playing the field before going all out with this game, I'm willing to give them a pass for that. The Sonic franchise has survived too many waves for a reckless investment.

How's the Local Split Screen Multiplayer? Since Teams are organized in Groups of 3, how would things work out in 4-Player split screen?

Considering that I've heard Sonic Heroes was apparently part of the inspiration for this game, I'm surprised they didn't at least make 4 of the teams match the ones from that game. Maybe Silver, Blaze, and Marine could also be a team alongside Robotnik, Metal Sonic, and Infinite.
