In this video, I will take a Soviet Uzbek train from the capital Tashkent to Samarkand. Samarkand is one of the most ancient cities on the planet, the same age as Rome and Athens. Samarkand is the second-largest city in Uzbekistan and the capital of Samarqand Province. The city is most noted for its position at the junction of trade routes on the Silk Road between China, India, and the West, and for being an early Islamic center for scholarly study.

  • Hi Eli, this is my first time commenting on your channel, I'm from the USA. As I finished watching, first sorry for the loss of your Dad. By coincidence, today would have been my father's 80th birthday, so it hit me double. I'm only 5 years younger than your Dad and it truly reflects how delicate and fleeting life is. Be safe and enjoy your adventures, live long and happy!
