Campground Review: Patrick AFB near Cocoa Beach Florida

Published 2017-09-03
We just spent a month at the Patrick AFB Family Campground (aka FamCamp). It is in a lovely location near Cocoa Beach close to several beaches and many activities! The campground has 156 full-hookup sites (electricity, water, and sewer). For more information, see bit.ly/2gFcjB2 and US Military Campground website at www.militarycampgrounds.us/florida/manatee-cove-ca…

Great review! I grew up in Merritt Island and love the beaches between Cocoa Beach and Patrick. Thanks!

We stayed there Feb 2017. We were very impressed with the campground and was lucky to get a spot along the river. Your video would have been very helpful as first time visitors to the campground. Anybody visiting for the first time, do yourself a favor and take note to the information provided. We are hoping to stay again about the same time next year. Thank you for taking the time to produce this video.
  • Good info about the gates. We OFTEN find ourselves being directed to former gates, closed gates, after hour closings and more.
  • When arriving at most facilities with an RV you will almost always wind up using the commercial gate. Great video. Good job.

VA disabled Vets with documented service connected disabilities can stay there also. These Vets would have to likely have either a retirement military ID or a Military ID for utilizing MWR areas on military bases which would include RV campsites, as long as they a service connected disabled.

I loved your review! It was very informative. I look forward to visiting. I would like to know more about their MWR programs. Do they offer charter fishing trips, shows, tours ect.? I look forward to your future videos. One suggestion for your videos would be a new microphone to cut down on wind and better sound quality, but all and all a great video.

Awesome video, now I can't decide between Patrick or McDill.
  • You made a cool video also is this campsite is only for people who's in the military or have served in the military ?
