Young Kratos: "Be quick with your words." Old Kratos: Proceeds to speak as slowly as possible.
  • Man I'd love to see TC Carson and Christopher Judge voicing Kratos back to back. Just one last time. I love how Carson makes Young Kratos sound so arrogant, cruel and angry while Judge makes Old Kratos sound like a man filled with many regrets just trying to redeem himself, a broken man. Love em both!

Man. If only TC Carson came back to voice young Kratos, it would’ve been awesome!

Having Young Kratos speak and having him silent like in the game both work flawlessly. Just a sign of how well done this game is.

I love how you can feel the PTSD when Kratos says "Place myself in service?!". That was like, the only singular thing he vowed to never do again.

To think that the God of War series began with the words "Now there is no hope" Now Kratos has become the god of the thing he believed eluded him for decades if not centuries

I can’t imagine young Kratos actually remaining silent while his future self lectures him

Old Kratos: Is confronting a past he is ashamed of. Knowing better, knowing what he knows now. Trying to free himself from his self pity and doubt. Confronts his fears in the form of his younger self. Young Kratos: Is still running from that shame and doesn't want to be reminded. Still trapped by self pity and doubt. Vanishes after Old Kratos let's go of it, signifying that he's not a monster anymore.

IMO, I think if Young Kratos only said the “You need not remind me” line here, it would be perfect. It shows how Young Kratos was always a bit regretful of the actions he took, thereby helping improve the message of this scene that Old Kratos comes to realize (Kratos was always much more than just a vengeful killing machine), while also preserving the badassery and gravitas of having Carson’s Kratos actually speak.

I appreciate that you didn’t insert a young Kratos line every 5 seconds. The lines that were included actually fit for the most part. Very well done!

My favorite part about this ending is that, at the very end, Valhalla knew that what Kratos needed lastly was time. Time to sit, time to feel, and time to process his newfound perspective and rekindled hope.

I'm not dissatisfied with what they gave us but this would have been fucking insane if TC came back

This is really well done but honestly the scene works better as a soliloquy. Judge’s uninterrupted words of confrontation & self reflection. Just works so well.

Honestly, it only made sense for Old Kratos to fight young Kratos, neither to win or lose, but to realize that neither can live without the other in a way, and young kratos dissipating into old kratos so that way Old Kratos truly masters thyself.
  • @void735
It really was not nessessary. BUT! A final boss fight with young kratos using abilities of the old game would have been sooo fking perfect.

I grew up with TC Carson but Christopher Judge did a phenomenal job

This is the biggest shock that i have ever seen just young Kratos sitting on the throne quietly while our older kratos speaks as if hes in a greek play And its one of the best if not the best scenes I've ever seen in God of war history
  • How sick would it have been if TC Carson returned to voice young Kratos here, and you think he stays silent till the very end where he speaks in response as he stands up from the throne and pulls out the Blades of Chaos. The last test the player and Kratos need to overcome is young Kratos, but his healthbar instead says "God of War".
