No one will ever convince me that this is a good design for an access ladder. The engineer that designed it should be made to climb it 5 times in a row for punishment.
-
Little tip for you, don't tie off to the rungs of the ladder, tie off to the side of it. That way if that one breaks you still have to break through a few more before you fell. Watched a guy fall 70 feet from slipping on ice. And he was tied off to a rung and it popped loose when it tried to stop his weight

My brother used to do this. He loved it. He’s an iron worker in chemical plants now. The climbing varies depending on the project. Mostly stairs. I saw pictures he took on some of the towers. Thank you for active view on what he used to do. Can’t say I would share the same passion for it.

I was a tower tech for a little over a year, ended up leaving to pursue electrical. I miss blasting music and climbing up the towers all the time. Thanks for the awesome videos to bring back the memories!

Mad respect brother……. There is no way in hell I could do your job. Just watching this with my fear of heights makes me nauseous and overwhelmed with anxiety
-
This guy is a Superman. The engineer who designed this needs to take a few trips up and down this tower.
-
As 20ish young men, myself and 5 of my friends climbed a 480' tower in the dead of winter, no gloves, no harnesses, and at night. Probably the dumbest thing any of us have ever done. I ride by that same tower now at the age of 47 and it literally turns my stomach thinking of that night.

FFS 🤦♂️ why do I watch this 🤔I’m afraid of heights and suffer anxiety, my toes are feckin goin funny watching this dude , absolute respect for anyone that can do this work
-
Something always fun about monopoles... being up top and seeing the entire tower bend and warp under you in the wind...
-
He's up taking pictures like a tourist when I would be hugging the pole and 😭😭 Mad respect dude.
-
Well, as someone who is afraid of heights... I would recommend this video in VR over any horror movie out there!
-
I'm sure glad you do this because there is NO WAY anyone could pay me enough money to do this! My hands we sweating just watching him climb over to that ladder!
-
So happy to see your climbing videos back!!! Love them!
-
As a Broadcast Engineer I know and appreciate the things you guys have to deal with and my hats off to you guys! be safe and have fun!

People don’t realize how hard climbing a tower is on your feet with a no shank boot.
-
That feeling when you reach the top and realize you forgot your wrench 🔧 Respect and prayers for your safety brother. Not me, ever.
-
I see you’re on the Nope tower doing some Hell Naw work lol
-
I cant be the only one who's nuts crawled inside them the whole time you watched this, this man's spirit animal is a honey badger with wings

I’ve climbed my share of crazy things but my all time least favorite is the 500’ concrete cooling tower at the Hope Creek nuclear power plant in Salem NJ. It’s so crazy you have to take a psychological test to qualify. The first 400’ is just a regular ladder attached into the concrete and you’re climbing up and on a slight slant inward. At 400’ there’s a landing where the tower starts to flare outward. From there you’re climbing with your back to the tower and you are facing nothing but open air. Reason for the psych test is they’ve had people get to that landing or even the top and freak out over climbing into the abyss. To better understand Google an image that shows the ladder. It freaked me out but I persevered. At the top there’s a walkway with guard rails around the entire circumference of this massive thing. CRAZY.
