This is how I made a koi fish mosaic from broken Fiestaware. The border is made from broken Currier & Ives pieces.

Nice job, I think grouting would make it pop and then cover with epoxy if you want.
  • I really loved and appreciated this video. Your tips were an added bonus. The video was just long enough. Your voice and camera work were done very well. I loved the product info. I am READY to start my very first mosaic! Thank you.
  • What a fantastic project! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've only done relatively small projects, but this method could be used as well. I'm also primarily used to grouting. This is something to try. Beautifully done!

That is beautiful - thank you for sharing how to do this. I would suggest using some wood strips screwed together to make a frame around it if you want to keep the edge sharp.

I appreciate this style of mosaic where you fit your tile chips close together. It creates a wonderful effect. (I hate seeing too much grout...usually seen in hobbyist's mosaics). Lovely job. I've been thinking about using resin instead of grout, so I'm glad to see your project. Thanks for making this tutorial.
