This video shows how to easily wire an electric radiator fan circuit into any car. This fan wiring diagram includes a fan relay, a temperature switch, and a manual on/of switch that can be used to manually turn on the fan whenever you want. This radiator fan wiring circuit is great when building a hotrod, muscle car, or anytime that you're swapping from a clutch fan to an electric fan.

The Electric Radiator Fan Relay Wiring:
- Pin 30 (Red) 12v input from battery through circuit breaker
- Pin 86 (Black) 12v power feed from ignition switch
- Pin 87 (Red) 12v relay output sending power to the fan
- Pin 85 (Brown) Ground, goes to temperature switch and on/of switch
- Pin 87A Not Used

I’ve never watched a more put together and professional video on this topic

This vid should be taught in schools, it’s perfect

Working on vehicles all my life, I’ve never imagined a complete circuit laid out on a board. It’s pretty neat. Thanks for a perfectly explained video.

After having my radiator fan bust up my radiator after breaking off its mount I am upgrading from a pulley fan to an electric fan while I replace my radiator and this was exactly what I needed to help make sure I had not missed anything when installing it. Amazing work, helping people out even a year later!

If more people explained wiring like this, a lot less people would be intimidated by electrical circuits on their vehicle.
  • Honestly I appreciate your professionalism and clarity on explaining this 'HOW-TO!!" After watching this video, I have no idea how anyone can mess it up. THANK YOU🤘🤘
  • @kmother19
after watching your videos time and time again it finally just clicks with how simple this is and my confidence in doing the job is way higher now.
  • This is EXACTLY what I needed to know! You're a great teacher! Keep those videos coming, my friend!
  • @cokerart
THANK YOU!!! You have explained how to accomplish this in layman's terms, without making me (us) feel stupid. Bravo!
  • @tgjames011
Best explanation on YouTube, hands down. Thanks!!
  • @PrimeG2
Perfect! I wired mine up last night, minus the temp sensor. I added it along with my clutch fan. Since I have a temp sensor with a gauge, I will only activate the electric fan when it reaches 185 degrees. Other than that I will rely on my trusty, old faithful clutch fan! Thanks for such a detailed diagram!
  • 3 years ago my truck caught fire because of a pretty bad wiring work. I decided not to give up on her and worked hard to bring her back to life... and I succeeded mechanically speaking. However, I had been always scared of dealing with electricity and wires because nobody was patient enough to explain things to me like if I was a 5 yes old kid... that was until I found your channel. Thanks to you I was not only able to completely wire my rig - rock crawler - but I have now understood the reasons behind every connection... Honestly, I cannot find the proper words which can emphasize my deep appreciation and gratitude to you... Thank you for sharing your knowledge...

Fantastic video! Great diagram and thorough explanation of everything. I’ve watched 4-5 videos on the subject and was still lost. 1 play through of this and I’m confident in my new knowledge. Great job!

Man i appreciate all of your diy videos they are easy to follow and great in detail. Thanks for the time and effort you put in.
  • @justinbolton3806
Thank you. This is the best and most understandable wiring schematic without any unneeded filler information I’ve ever seen.
  • @kmother19
me and my stepdad were just looking at this setup on our 1980 cj7 and this makes things so much easier to comprehend. Thank you
  • @allanbryers4682
Thank you sir. Very well explained, a clear presentation with great visual aids and with demonstration. This has helped me understand my cooling fan system that I am fault diagnosing on my Kawasaki ZZR 100 C.
  • @LakshmananLM
I was doing a random search on the electrical side of the cooling system and found your excellent presentation as I was about to give up. Needless to say, I've subscribed. Because you've not only clarified a suspicion I had, you've also taught me enough to go through the circuit in a logical way. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!!
  • @Bigskyguy56
Clear, concise & to the point. You make the understanding of this subject extremely easy & enjoyable. Rick
