Thank you for the great video! Very educational. I bought a hunk of pyrite today, it's so beautiful and I love how heavy the mineral can get.

Super cool, amazing. Im interested in how to effectively clean pyrites from coal, in my experience it is difficult and bothersome to clean all cavities, so how would you do that properly is my question
  • Thanks for a thorough educational video. Searched for pyrite for 1st grader to watch after learning the Greek word pyre. Most of the videos talk about the "aura" of pyrite ans how to get rich from pyrite. This video is exactly what I was looking for!
  • Great video! I love pyrite the most out of any mineral. Your baby sounds adorable lol

Glad I found your video. Is it safe to keep a "raw quartz with pyrite" as they advertised inside my home? It looks like one on your video when you said, this one is "cooler".

iron pyrite is excellent for flint and steel fire lighting as it sparks very well. You can use either your steel striker or your flints to spark though your steel striker is best (as it generates the most sparks). You also didn't mention marcasite the most reactive type of iron pyrite (and the best type for use for flint and pyrite fire making)
