I finish up the last area of the dynamic jaw that needs machining. This time we'll use the G&E shaper to make easy work of a hard to reach area that would be more difficult to machine using conventional rotating cutters.

Love the shaper. So unique in the capabilities compared to a regular vertical mill.

I swear the shaper is better than any asmr video I have ever seen.

My absolute favorite part is the picture at the end with three generations of machinists together. What a terrific thing to see the legacy that's been built here. Thanks so much for sharing your skill and art with all of us!

Old shaper kickin' a$s and takin' names right there. Love these old machines that built our world, and then the machines that went next level. That's a get it done machine. I gotta say it's sexy. I'm a machinist by trade, and I make prototype parts daily. (but I have collected some vintage machines). Deserved respect to the G&E Adam.

What a way to have a birthday present from Abom79 to watch him doing some Machining on my birthday!

Always stand to the side when starting a grinder wheel until it reaches full speed. Someone could have banged the wheel and cracked it or a temperature fluctuation could have damaged it. Or do the ring test if you don’t have 3 seconds to let it get to full speed.
  • I miss your working from the home shop, thanks for the glimpse of it.

It’s like having a long lost friend back seeing you in the home shop with all your tools. I really miss this content.
  • Awesome video Adam. Your home shop has got to be the envy of at least a thousand of your fans.

Keep up the great videos Adam. I design industrial electrical control systems and know nothing of machining, but I love watching your videos and learning new things. 👍

The tiny incremental decrease in the resonance of the thinned workpiece was hypnotic.

Wow, that is super pretty when the shaper is doing exactly what is intended for....
