  • I have a very heavy heart tonight. I grew up in Baltimore. True, we loved Brooks. My brother named his son Brooks.

You said the key thing... a HoF ballplayer... and an even better person.

Probably the best 3rd baseman? It's not even close Dan, best defensive 3rd baseman EVER

Even during a death, Dan has to put it back to himself. "I was texting Bench". Never let us down....

SVP and Rich both had amazing unique Brooks stories. But I liked what Bench tweeted: “I was 0 for 4 on hits to 3rd base in the 1970 WS.” Simple yet poignant.

Ken Caminiti and Brooks Robinson the best defensive 3rd baseman EVER.

Best tender of the hot corner on the field.. but he was an even better human is right... he would take your heart out on the field but off the field he would give you his heart

The way Brooks was fielding and hitting that World Series, we knew we had it in the bag.

My maternal grandmother was a lifelong Reds fan and she hated the Orioles. She despised Boog Powell.

Dan: Who cares that you were crushed, as the Orioles beat the Reds in 5 games in the 1970 Worls Series? You never saw Eddie Matthews play either. Nevertheless, Brooks Robinson epitomized what is was to play the "Oriole Way." Brooks remains revered in Baltimore.
