  • The navy is currently using that to track personnel’s sleep schedules to assist with balancing work load and work schedules

This is a luxury product. The subscription killed it at the door .

I'm using the ring and used to use the gen 2 ring too. But I want to say one thing for potential new owners, especially Android users. This company always gives their iOS app a priority. A feature that automatically detects and record activities has been in their iOS app since this February but this hasn't been implemented in the Android app yet for 10 months 7/20/22, Update: Oura has treated iOS and Android users a little bit more equally, the feature that I wrote originally is already available for Android users and they recently added a new feature and that got available for Android within 2 or 3 weeks after iOS.

I have Gen 2 Oura and love this thing! It's very accurate!

I have had Gen 2 for a year and just got the Gen 3. Overall it works great. Seems like there is some issues when updates or new products come out though but it typically gets fixed within the week. Battery life is good. I wear it in place of a wedding ring. Best feature is the heart rate monitor and body temperature tracking. When either seem to be on the rise u can immediately change diet, workout habits, and sleep schedule to prevent any minor illnesses from taking hold. I have not had a cold or flu since buying this.

Anyway, with a comfortable strap and the Sleep as Android app my Watch Active 2 can do all of that... Without costing over 300€ and without a 5.99€ subscription service. Even if this thing were to work perfectly, that last part is an absolute dealbreaker for me. Having to pay for a subscription service ontop of the high price for the device just to use its basic features is an absolute no-go for me.

I bought an oura ring and it's one of my best investments

I’ve worn the Gen 2 Oura for close to two years. Waiting for my Gen 3 to be delivered. Sleep is a part of what it gives you, also calories burned, exercise tracking, heart rate variability, temperature and more. Excellent little tech, highly recommended

I’ve worn the Oura ring for two years now and I love it. It’s the first thing I check every morning. Highly recommended.

I’ve had the Gen 2 of this ring for a couple of years. Now wearing the Gen 3, just got it a few weeks ago. Very good 👍👍

Love this detailed data and idea of a ring as opposed to wrist devices.

I just received my upgraded Gen 3 ring. I've been using the Gen 2 since December 2018 and I love it. It's so comfortable that I wear it all day and night and only give it a charge when I'm at the sink in the morning shaving, etc. The best point is that based on the data, I've changed my eating time and bed time which has optimized my sleep quality. Craziest of all is that it only weighs about 3.3 grams.
  • As a sleep researcher, 1: this product is really good for a whole lot of things, but 2: it can't really tell sleep stages apart so well (it guesses more than anything) and 3: the algorithms overestimate sleep (if you watch a movie it might think you entered sleep) Don't get me wrong, it is a great tool, it gives people a focus on sleep and people REALLY don't put enough focus on sleep! And, it really can give you a great idea of your sleep onset latency, sleep quality, wake after sleep onset, etc. But just like fitbits, apple watches, etc, it can't really tell sleep stages apart (unless it is around your head like an EEG or a polysomnograph, you can't really know the stage of a person with great accuracy). But then again, how important is it really for regular people to know exactly how much time they spent in REM, N2, N3, etc?

This is freaking awesome!!! I read about this ring
