This year I'd love to add more pieces from Hermès like the Birkin size 40, Constance, 24/24 and Bolide. Maybe I'll be bad and get an Hermès Kelly 40! I also recently fell in love with the Chanel Jumbo- so that's kind of a must-have for my collection, along with a Chanel Mini Rectangle and a Chanel Reissue. Aside from those, I'd love to add a few more Fendi Peekaboo bags to my collection along with a Fendi Baguette. Make sure you subscribe to see what I buy this year!

If you're into channels that include luxury fashion, shopping, luxury unboxings and reveals, luxury travel, and daily vlogs- basically anything that has to do with life and style, then this is the channel for you! We'll often talk about my collection which includes Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Gucci, Fendi, Hermès, Coach and YSL. We'll also look at current trends and upcoming releases from each of the houses.

So what are your thoughts on this topic? Is luxury purging something you’d be able to do?
  • @missmarina_xo
Her cadence and editing make it feel like I’m watching a cult indoctrination video lol
  • @BethVonBlack
She's trading her 'new money aesthetic' for an 'old money aesthetic' - it's a rebrand, nothing more, nothing less.
  • @pholtlux_749
There is nothing special about handbags versus any other type of collection. One can make the argument that all collections are a waste of money and resources. If the collection brings you joy and you can afford it, that is a good reason to have it. If not, maybe move on to something else.

I can’t get past the D R A M A and the level of A C T I N G that’s taking place. Girl, calm down. You’re clearly doing just fine, stop acting like you’re cutting off an arm in what’s nothing more than a poorly disguised ad for something else.
  • You are a class act, Caleb. I find myself wondering if she bought all those bags to get views, and now she can get more views by being dramatic about downsizing her collection. Also, the stock videos are so cringe. One of the reasons I love your channel is that you truly appreciate bags for their craftsmanship, artistry, and let's not forget materials. Bags aren't always an appropriate topic of conversation in my everyday life, so it's so fun for me to connect with people online to geek out with.

I’ve been a luxury minimalist for years with a lifestyle more towards sustainable fashion and still found her video to be way over the top. I was confused at first because I technically share a lot of the values she touched on in her original video on the topic, but it truly felt so disingenuous and pretentious in a way that I genuinely struggled to put words to. It was like she learned about a topic a few weeks prior and instantly became a prophet spreading the word on concepts that she herself is still learning and shaming others in the process. It was exemplified in the video about personal style and hoping off the supposed hamster wheel, but the whole video was an advertisement for a jewelry brand. Like it’s comically insane.

this is a her problem, she needs to stop using words like 'us', 'we' etc. this is a you problem niki
  • @ea1420
I think it’s interesting that she is going to keep the non-logo luxury bag and the pricey branded jewelry. I just don’t see the point of her advertising this. Plus, quiet luxury and getting rid of the logo bags is a trend and it feels she is just following a trend. It doesn’t feel authentic. I think when trends change so will she. I think there will be more logo luxury bags in her future once those trends change.
  • @chidenisee
I sold all my luxury bags except one by the end of 2022. I sold them over 3 years. I kept my neverfull because it was my push present and baby bag. I sold 13 bags, all high luxury brands. I do plan on repurchasing two bags next year but that will probably be all. I just plan to spend my money on travel, investing, and savings.

I was shocked at how many YouTubers were so offended. I really got annoyed as Connor basically called her “insecure” when people who are easily offended are usually the insecure ones. She has a lot of valid points, would I go that extreme, no, but I get it. I went through something similar to her, just not that extreme. I really take no issue with Niki or what she is doing.
  • @niononion4363
You had more sense to blur the child’s face than her own mother (I watched her video and was appalled she plastered her children’s faces everywhere)—I agree with everyone here Caleb—you’re a class act & very kind. ❤ PS: I think some folks got triggered because she speaks in generic terms and her language implies we all buy designer items for the same reason she did. It also implies you can’t be wholesome and buy luxury/designer items. It’s either/or with her new/improved philosophy.
  • @totesgene
I didn't know who she was either. You're very kind, Caleb. I found her video ridiculous, honestly. As you said, you can have a transformation without getting rid of your bags. Why is she even telling us? Why do we care?  She also make a lot of generalizations about those who buy and love these items, which I found to be offensive. What I found most offensive was the insinuation that we buy these items to flaunt them to the world or that it's some status symbol. THE WORLD DOESN'T CARE! We only care because we are into this stuff. No one else cares. They don't. I was one of them before I got into this, and I never noticed once what bag someone was carrying. I agree. it doesn't sound like she was buying these items for the right reasons. Lastly, yeah, her young daughter might not know the differnce between a Walmart bag and a Chanel today. That was a silly statement.
  • @greenfash6328
exactly I understand she is a different person now, since it took IV and other methods to become a mother. I watched her for years and she was one of the reason I chosen luxury high quality pieces in my wardrobe. I paid over $20,000 for these items, now she telling me to throw them out. I personal think she needs therapy and coming on YouTube telling her followers to get rid of thousands of dollars she coached us to buy over 7 years.she now preaching that as a mother you shouldn't wear Chanel or Hermes, that B.S. She was on here not to long ago praising her husband for building her a custom made closet
  • @AutumnBeckman
I love the way you structured this so those of us who haven't watched her video (and won't) can see it along with your live reactions. I'm in the negative reaction/suspicious camp. She doesn't come across to me as genuine (I could be wrong, of course) and I wonder what's really behind this decision and, like you said, what else is going to change in her life. If the bags with logos have become so negative to her because they're status symbols then what other status symbols will she be purging (it seems like she has a lot of them)? Will she be downsizing her house? Trading in her car (I'm assuming she has a fancy one) for a Nissan? Shopping at Walmart for clothes and bags now? Also, I have little respect for people in their 20s or later who are just now realizing that material things and the opinions of others are not what is actually important in life. And to your point, you can live a healthier life (be a good person, as you said) and still have fancy bags. They're not mutually exclusive. Good for her if she's finally realizing this but what the heck took so long? There's definitely more beneath the surface.
  • @marioisnotatwork
I call BS oh her part. She clearly felt better than everyone by owning every single "it bag" one can aspire to own... Now she feels SO MUCH better than everybody because she doesn't own any of them. She has no style to her, no substance, just tacky. Unlike you, who truly and genuinely enjoy your collection, adding your own style to it without shoving it into someone's face. You're the best Caleb.
  • She bought them for the wrong reasons, you nail it there. Did she pay full price? I call BS on her excuse.
  • @wallyrbc
I’ve lost track of how many times her family has gone to Miami this year. Luxury hotels, beautiful restaurants. Is this all coming to an end as well?
  • @CloverleafBags
My first thoughts, “Why? You moving into a tiny house?” She said she’s purging and getting rid of everything. Hmmm….
