It was a pretty mediocore show for reveals but I think Geoff did a much better job than last years game awards. Him mentioning the layoffs and the power of smaller games goes a long way and there were noticiably more indies at the show this year. I hope this does mean that Geoff took some lessons from the "Wrap it up" disasters.
  • “A Lego Bloodborne game?! That would piss people the f- off, BUT it would sell a lot of units.” I would very, very angrily buy a Lego Bloodborne game on day f-ing one.
  • What he was saying was, "be careful who you make redundant, because they could be major competitors to you with a hugely selling indie game!"

I don't understand the hate some people are giving Geoff for the show, the guy is trying his best to fill the hole that E3 left for so many of us and if he wasn't doing his thing people would still be complaining about how no one is capitalizing on it, besides the show was put together pretty great in comparison to other years, its not his fault that there weren't more AAA games on it most companies prefer doing their own Showcase for their tittles so that's out of his hands. I think its pretty rad that he's trying to give smaller studios a platform to show off their games.

The problem with SGF is that Geoff is not a first party studio and all of E3 mind-blowing conferences were first party... It's actually was a good show but all of the heavy hitters will be shown on their respectives conferences

Apparently Tim Robinson is an actual skater IRL, so there's the connection to Skate.

Armoured core fundamentally altered my brain chemistry. 2 years ago mechabreak wouldn’t have even peaked my interest, now I’m hyped as fuck
  • @Ziggyvu
“Where you power range together” 💀💀💀
  • @AJDraws
I fell bad for Jeff. I think this event was handled pretty good. I mean, it didn't have the most mind-blowing announcements, but for what there was, everyone had time to briefly talk about their games and every game had time to be shown.
  • @Kendungeon
Kingdom Come was always pretty silly, especially when it comes to Hans
  • @Halfrican-Jones
Damn, never thought Geoff would say it like it is this year.
  • @exosen9922
EXACTLY what I was waiting for, now I can poop in peace.

Not Geoff’s fault devs don’t have much to show, or are choosing not to use his platform because it saves them money. I choose to be grateful for Summer Games Fest, mostly because it would be a bummer without it now that E3 is gone. I’m also very glad he spoke up about the lay offs and respect him more not just for that, but for having the balls to ask people what they thought about SGF this year.

It's so goddamn refreshing to see games and immediately think 'what the fuck am I looking at? There are so many existing IP's and AAA games based on familiar tropes or game structures that when something genuinely weird comes along, it's like a breath of fresh air; even if it's just something like Among Us, anything that shakes the industry up for a few years is reassuring.
  • @chardude
Look I showed up for Sparking Zero and I got what I wanted. See you all next year!
  • @Karolestube
I think Geoff did a great job considering that there wasn’t much to show up this year and dude was honest upfront about expectations. At least with little to show, it gave space for indie games showcases which imo is never boring.
  • @Shh-Silence
Quick note on Dark and Darker. According to Steam reviews it is actually not Free to play but more of a demo for the game. You then have to buy the full game for 30€ in the game itself. A bit shady marketing/advertising the price IMO so might be worth it to know before downloading the ”free” game
  • @cayteo
Lego and Horizon have already had joint ventures in physical sets, game makes perfect sense 🤷‍♂️
  • @cian1170
So hyped for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, the original was one of the best open world rpg experiences I've had in recent times. If this one improves upon that and delivers more of a finished product it could be something very special.
