something I realised while playing rolling girl on diva as I was watching this; sekai has brought in an audience that just..doesn’t truly care. I mean, once you FC or AP a song do you ever play it again other than in co op or watching the 3dmv with your new outfits? I find myself replaying songs a lot more in diva than I do in sekai (point and case rolling girl, I haven’t touched the sekai chart for months) bc it’s just more fun and longer, which also brings me to the point that people’s attention spans for songs have gotten much shorter than when growing up with Diva. For example with Melt or HCM in sekai people are upset with how long it is even tho the length is nowhere near as long as diva’s version.

You’re so real about googoo888, they are so good like, I wouldn’t have liked Shake it, Electric Angel, Snowman, Decorator, Po Pi Po and more if it weren’t for them
  • Fly high project diva series, thank you for giving us that one gif of Len busting it down in swim trunks while playing maracas. It truly was some of the funniest shit ever in quarantine🙏 (No but seriously I loved the diva series, that was my childhood fr)

I don't think that it is PJSekai's fault. Sega has abandoned Project Diva even though we would pay for another Project Diva game. Heck, even if we could play the old versions on Steam or Nintendo Switch. I would buy it, I would play it. I've yet to play Project Sekai and not sure if I want to give it a go.

I think it's not even pjsekai fault in general, like this game WAS the reason i first ever got introduced to Vocaloid. I feel like it's all SEGA's fault for being ignorant and just treating PD like a mess.... So yeah i feel bad for PD players... Seeing that many people despise Pjsekai, just makes me feel like a terrible person for playing this game.... Like, just let us enjoy the game😔💔

13:47 The Edit mode was more on Sony's fault than Sega's because the PS4 can't save mp3 and can't import the various files required along with it.

based shoujo opinion as per usual 🔥🔥🔥🔥people wanna blame pjsk for stuff it didnt do SOOO badly, i feel like some people forget you can just dislike something instead of having to find a whole list of reasons you can spout off at any moment as to why it's "bad". it just feels so unfair to blame sekai for this when in that interview tweet they LITERALLY SAY it's because of trends and what the player base wants. epic internet illiteracy moments im kind of a newish vocaloid fan (i was really into it when i was younger, and getting into pjsk recently has reignited my love for it) and i havent played many of the older diva games (i currently have megamix on the switch and mirai dx on my 3ds!) so it was very interesting to hear these things about these games that i didnt know about :0 i had no idea that the other diva games had so many fun minigames/other content, i just thought that pjdiva was exclusively focused on the rhythm game aspect of things. i wouldve had so much fun on that edit mode if i could have it... :( i dont know how to end this comment. great video i liked it lots <3

I mean I guess I understand from a financial standpoint why Sekai has replaced Diva, but it just sucks when there are clearly a lot of people, including me, who still prefer what the Diva games offered. F, the first Diva to get an international release, was my introduction to the series as well as to rhythm gaming (I was even there when Sega made that Facebook post asking fans if they'd be interested in the series getting ported over) and I honestly can't say that I, a middle schooler at that time who absolutely sucked at the rhythm aspect of the game, would've remembered it as fondly if not for the things I could enjoy outside of the core gameplay, like the DIVA rooms and the entertaining MVs that through visual storytelling gave so much more depth to the songs and made them stick out more to me. To this day I still play MM+ and the mods people make but also find myself missing the F games and wishing they got ported too. Idk, I'm bummed out but at the same time don't wanna be all "back in my day" about it if this is what the majority of rhythm game/vocaloid fans really prefer 😅
  • @birb-naise
No because we NEED an MV vid because some of these MVs sega's made...like GIRL......I swear that disco floor star-shaped night stage is in like half of all future tone MVs
  • @oqinox
the moment i saw the title I gasped so hard 😦

I feel like one reason they didn’t add an edit mode is the lighting engine. Let’s be honest, the Arcade models, while being beautifully detailed, only looked good when lit well. You can see in the future tone pvs that they heavily manipulate the light source depending on where the character is in relation to the camera. Adding an edit mode would just lead to people discovering unflattering shots/angles when compared to f/f2nd. Overall, I believe the arcade engine seems too restrictive to really have a polish looking edit mode.

I love vocaloid so much and I really wish I could play project diva. I found vocaloid through being handed a tablet at the age of 4 and watching mmd dramas, and I play project sekai now because vocaloid is my childhood.
  • @Limesecretgarden
Out of context but the sekai’s animations are somewhat worse than Project diva’s
  • @johnsrj
I remember begging my mom for a ps vita just to play projet diva, it was so much fun.
  • @markwatson8714
Given it's one of Sega's more successful franchises I doubt it's ended as such. Though I doubt any future release would bear much resemblance to the previous ones either. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a new Project Diva game for the current generation of consoles at some point - but I'll bet it will more closely resemble Sekai than it will Diva.
  • I absolutely agree with you on the Edit Mode thing. Would've made it much easier to make 3D videos, and easier to add songs in. Hell, it would've gone SO well with Steam Workshop. It was one hell of a missed opportunity. I get that the PS4 couldn't do what Edit Mode needed, but come on. MM+ was the perfect opportunity for it.

As someone who just loves project diva for the gameplay, your video introduced me to a whole new perspectiva on what it means to the community. Yeah I knew about the other games and the differences they have (I also play project diva x), but it never felt very important to me. Now I get it lol

guys someone should get an entire team and ask sega if they can earn the rights to diva so they can keep the diva series going so we can keep having fun other than just flick tap flick tapping on our phones !! someone needs to atleast ask sega if they can make new diva fangames edit: i feel like even if theres more trends going on, and even if people leave the old ones, like edit mode, we could still add them for the people who still want to use them, it would just be plain wrong to remove it even if you knew some people still use it.. but we should still make fangames and update it when we can, atleast WHEN we can so we dont get tired out. we should take like ideas from everyone so we can get a littleee bit of everything that people like.. we should all be able to make contributions of it and all that,, adding onto the updates, we could add ingame-purchases like pjsekai, but for more exclusive things like special songs like future tone and everything, more outfits if we make mvs, and just more gems/currency like pjsekai! and we should make a story, like pdx and sekai! maybe a character creator for the mvs, or add an online story mode w/ user-made npcs around the world, or an open-world thing like genshin, where you can move around, or just a 2d thing.. just do anything we can!! id rather have anything good rather than nothing..
