  • Thank you for all your wonderful comments, I cant wait to play this with the kids and to 3D print out my own board 🙂

Yes! The rerelease of this game was what got me into painting miniatures. That barbarian was the first mini I ever painted. So cool to see it here.

Primal collectibles on MMF is exactly what you're looking for. They're great.

I think if anything is a must buy from this set, it's the 2.0 Metallics. Even if I paint most of a mini the "traditional" way, I find myself reaching for the Speedpaint metallics when I need it. Also skin tones like Peachy Flesh, can be "brightened" with a very small bit of an ivory color, although to not risk it brightening to much, using the air paint like you did here is probably the best approach overall

Just got a new copy of HQ to play with the missus. Got her a custom wizard mini, can't wait for my paint to arrive. Methods have changed since I last painted. Can't wait!

I played the original Heroquest when it came out and being a preteen that was an avid model car builder, I painted all of the figures using model car paints. In hindsight they all looked terrible but at the time I didn't know any better. I picked up the new version of Heroquest recently and introduced my wife and children to it. Just this past weekend my son (age 12) and I began painting the figures and your videos have been very useful. Thank you for making them.
  • I just got this game! I'm super excited to see all that you do with the mini's, thank you for covering it!
  • @TheOldestNoob
I had the original and picking up the new one soon. I hope you paint it all on here. Love your slap chop videos. There is a ton of Heroquest heroes on my mini factory.
  • @garethlee6875
Your videos not only inspired me to start miniature painting with the slapchop method, but also bo buy HeroQuest. I have them all primed and will begin the painting process following your methods for each mini, hope to see more.
  • @liruichen
I play it a lot with my kids, is great!
  • @bolicob
Looks fun, I should get a copy

I have a soft spot for the OG Heroquest minis from the '89 set. The orcs are some of my favorites.
  • @rdubs_hikes
Great video as always! I'm sure you have heard this before, but I have fallen in love with GW's Imperial Fist Yellow. It is amazing and worth a shot!
  • @tommys6644
Just bought this game. Played original, loved that game. Going attempt to paint them.

For the AP metal speed paints, make sure they are mixed well. There is a lot of sediment on the bottom that you need to make sure is mixed in before you use them, then they work great. Citadel Contrast paints have a few that have this same issue: Apothecary White, Tesseract Glow, Basilicanum Grey to name a few.
  • @GloomspiteNoob
Love Heroquest, Blood Bowl and Fight Fantasy books just remind me of the 80's. I've painted up Heroquest characters and monster for all of the current expansions that was a bit of a slog just the furniture and doors to go!
  • @Sharpevil
Bite the Bullet does great warcraft-y styled minis, mostly for D&D. They're doing a dwarf month right now in January.
  • As probably already mentioned they have done a few extra characters you can play. They include for normal retail a knight, a rogue, warlock and bard plus the monk that die out soon. They did a Druid as well on the initial release but not available for retail just yet. Alt sculpts for the elf and barbarian are also included in two of the expansions as well
  • @aroncheek5092
Cool I've seen this around for decades and wondered what it plays like and what the quality is like
