How many Streams do Artists need to get hit?

With so much changing with streaming services like spotify and apple, there are a lot of fake streams. Sadly lots of artists have to deal with the tiktokification of music and release loads of remixes.

I was really suprised to see for ariana grande's "yes, and" song, that she had 8 different versions to the song. Without tiktok to funnel into spotify, it will change a lot of these artist's trajectories.

I was so invested into what you were saying I didn’t even realize the video had low views, that’s how good it is lol
  • @buterarianator
but like i mean ariana she isnt even the first one to do this 😭 summer walker speeded up her entire "last day of summer" album on spotify 😭

funny how you mention ariana, sza or tate but miss taylor swift has been relasing tons and i mean TONS of versions from her songs nonstop since 2019, including her alternative/indie songs, i guess talking about others but not the one who does the most is right, right? ariana is the first time she has done that, while tate and sza are taking advantage of her peak songs which is fine but taylor has been constantly over exposing her music with multiple versions of multiple songs

I love when artists release their instrumentals but sometimes it’s too much for 7 other versions

LOL this is the frist time in her 10 YEARS of career that ariana does this while other artists has done the same for years now
  • How many versions does Karma has??? You guys are only talking about Ariana… Damn it…😅

The Taylor bias in the video is so clear and he did not even hide it

Its because people only stream music these days and the artists make way less. You need hundreds of streams to make a single dollar. So artists release multiple versions to maximize the amount of streams in hopes to recoop the money. Thats why artists with high PURE sales are impressive because it means people are actually buying their songs with their own money.

there is a demand, people want speed up, slow, reverb version on spotify
  • @linifiles
as a producer, all these versions have a good reason to be there. extendend mixes are great for djing, acapella and instrumental are great for remixing ans mashuping. and sped up and slowed down are good for tiktok trends. i don't think the main reason for it is getting more streams, max. i like when artists realease different versions, it is good for musicians to tweak the song as they like. maybe streamd are a reason, but i don't think they're the main one.
