Is there anything else you want to know about the Knipex Pliers Wrench?
  • @tracer1127
They are designed for plumbers like myself allowing you to slide back around the nut as you crank up the fitting without marking the chrome or finish. Plumbing fittings are notorious for being all over the place size wise where as nuts and bolts on a modern vehicle are standard sizes hence spanner’s and sockets.

I love my Pliers Wrenches, and have used them a lot. A couple thoughts on your experience: - The adjustment smooths out over time. My 7" pair is the most-used, and you can totally tell they're more "broken-in" when adjusting for size. - Comparing the ergonomics to an adjustable, I'd personally rank them much higher. I seriously hate adjustable wrenches. - I'd mention that they are useful for flattening warped/bent metal. Lastly, Harbor Freight just came out with a 10" that saves a bit on the more-spendy Knipex (with a couple small differences)

I bought recently a bunch of Knipex tools for my father. I would worry about the price if these were consumables or for 2-3 years but with people saying they got some of their Knipex tools from their parents 40 years down the line, looking almost brand new - having high quality tools for decades is worth the price pump.
  • I love my Knipex pliers wrenches but their not an all out replacement for adjustable wrenches like some people say in some scenarios I have to use an adjustable wrench to get in a tighter space because the pliers wrench won’t fit but overall I love them their a awesome tool.

I've gotta note here that Knipex are so well-engineered that they support wider openings than competing products in the same physical size. So that small wrench will actually work very effectively on probably ALL the bolts on the test rig shown here. While the small handle makes it harder to torque well, how often does that matter? Knipex products are amazing!!

I’m curious if it’s good on diesel mechanic jobs
  • Do you really use these often?.. I found they don’t replace what I found adjustable wrenches how people seem to think you might use them, without having actually used them enough to understand their actual utility.. that’s just a theory I’m working on anyways. Thanks for the content and whatnot

Yeah, they are expensive but they are so useful and durable. I have destroyed my cheap wrenches before with heavy work but not these. I would say they are value for money, longterm wise.
  • First videos aren't always the best, I disagree with your rating yet respect your perspective.

What do you mean by value? Or do you mean price? When you give it a score 8/10 say for ergonomics or functionality, you must give example of a tool with a score 10/10. To me value is the weighted average score of all the criteria.

It's, like, just your opinion, man. And it's worthless. But it's yours. Have a nice day.

You don’t know how to use this excellent tool. I suggest you watch some videos on it.

The pronunciation is Kay-Nipp-Ex, the K is not silent. 😎
