If we are really going to be pushing into an all digital future for gaming, then I hope we get a fund going for people to crack these consoles and have offline backups of these games for when they decide we can't have them anymore.
  • @TheTekknician
No disc drive. You know, you KNOW Sony's going to very much use this fact for their new iteration.

The issue with digital only is that a large part of the US which is their biggest market is lacking decent broadband, with some parts of the country having practically zero access to decent internet. My building for example isn't allowing any service to be hooked up because they're forcing the tenants to use the wifi which is 10mbps. I had to go with T-Mobile home internet to get decent speeds but that's nowhere near fiber.

An issue I have with the Series X refresh is the fact that it doesn't seem like you can lay it on it's side. It sucks that they're taking away quite a few things from the base model.

The only problem I have with disckless is that it takes away the nostalgia of having a console. I can't bring it out in 20 years and play it if it's not supported!

cant wait for the xAirpurifier to be released, would look nice besides my psDubaiTower & xFridge

One thing I like about the xbox controller is how long the AA batteries last. In my case I think it lasts something around 20 hours of usage (it depends on the battery brand). I have 2 pairs of those duracell rechargeable packs and I always keep one pack ready while I'm using the other. And thats wild when I compare to my Dualsenses which I have to charge all the time. I'm ok with microsoft using rechargeable batteries inside the new controllers but i'm afraid the battery life will be similar to Dualsense. Let's see

The thing about the controller is this: GuliKit have already launched a Controller that is leagues above all others (Hall-effect sticks & triggers, mechanical face buttons, etc) for the same price as a standard Dualshock 4. As soon as they bring out Playstation & X-Box compatible controllers of the same standard, which they are apparently already working on - Sony & Microsoft won't have much of a choice but to step up their controllers. We just might have a future ahead of us where Hall-effect is the standard for Gaming Controllers. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what GuliKit are cooking up.

We need this controller. Should’ve came with the new Xbox in 2020
  • @NintendoMania
Im so scared of a digital future. Im glad I have a normal series X.
  • @jonesvaughn8946
The only feature I want which I've wanted since the last gen consoles came out. Is the ability to use your own Bluetooth headphones instead of having to go out and buy gaming headphones that are almost the price of the consoles🤦🏾‍♂️
  • I really hope the new Xbox has at least an option to purchase a disc drive separately like the rumoured PS5 Slim. I buy many more digital games now than before, but I still really appreciate having the option for both.
  • @bameva7549
Digital only is horrible. Not only is it (way) more expensive for the gamer, because you can’t buy games second hand or on discount, but it’s also very poor for lots of gamers with poor internet connections. For those it takes days to download huge games.
  • @d14lonestar
I actually like the AA version of the controller because I use rechargeable batteries. Glad this new one seems to be swappable battery but unfortunately it will probably incompatible with rechargeable AA batteries.
  • @JanVill
I actually prefer removable batteries. it's easier to just switch batteries than have it die on you and you'd have to plug it in mid game.
  • @jmartinez728
I believe everything you said about retailers dropping support if there are no “physical games “.
  • @SteelRhinoXpress
This will definitely make the OG series x become highly sought after for disc buyers, since the refresh series x will not have a disc drive. We all knew it was evenutally coming to this. Games now of days are going beyond 4k blu ray disc capacity. Sony has no plans on making an 8k blu ray drive. Not to mention, sonys upcoming refresh, ps5 slim will no longer come with a disc drive built in and you will have to buy the disc drive separately. So, even sony is starting to head into an all digital direction now as well.
  • @gqinc1202
Was hoping theyd switch to hall effect sensors in place of potentiometers for the joysticks (you would never get stick drift)
  • @stevenbearden655
it says right on the document you show that the battery is going to be swappable, which means NOT built in. Since you can already swap out rechargable battery packs OR AA batteries currently, This doesn't sound like an upgrade.
  • @Balc0ra
Can't say I'm sad to see the AA batteries go. But it still had an upside, as in easy to replace. As way to many I know did see their PS3/4 controller as E-waste and tossed it away when it went bad vs trying to replace the battery.
